Sol Bamba’s injury is likely to rule him out for the remainder of the season.

Neil Warnock:

"We’ve assessed Bamba and I think he’ll be out for the season now. Only chance will be the last couple of games."

The physio saw his groin problem and at first we thought it might be months, but it’s better than we thought. Unlikely that he’ll play again this season.

Warnock on Lee Peltier

"Peltier is training really well and I’m toying with the idea of using him tomorrow.
But I just don’t want to risk anything."
"He had an operation and one large bit of bone was removed, but it’s good to see him back.
He’ll definitely be available for Monday if not tomorrow."

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I've nearly managed Sheffield Wednesday on a couple of occasions!"

Any update on Whittingham's contract?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"Nothing new, we’re just getting on. It’s not Peter I’ve just got to wait on finance details.
Same on Harris and Manga."

Neil Warnock thinks Sheffield Wednesday are one of two clubs who could go up via the play-offs.

Neil Warnock:
“I think they could win the play-offs, Sheffield Wednesday or Fulham.” he said. “Fulham are a good side but they’re not so good on the defensive side of the game so it’ll be interesting.”

Neil Warnock's verdict on goalline technology

NEIL WARNOCK:

"Not before time - I’ve had my disappointments with it! Bristol City when the ball went in the goal and hit the stanchion and we’re all celebrating, the only people who didn’t see it were the four people in black!"

"Linesman 40 yards away have got no chance, so I think it’s great especially with all the money that’s around.
With everything at stake in the Championship - it’s probably the biggest carrot in the world really."

NEIL WARNOCK:

'Lambert is fit, but I'm not picking him'

"Rickie is available for selection, but I’m not picking him. Kenneth Zohore has solved problems and I dread to think where we’d be without Ken."

"The turnaround in his performances have been incredible. Whether Ken can maintain that next season, we don’t know.
But at the moment, it’s his (Zohore) shirt and I don’t see anybody taking it off him. Rickie is training well and we didn’t use him last weekend, I wanted someone to run into the channels so I put Pilkington on."

"Rickie will be in the squad tomorrow."

Rickie Lambert currently on £25,000 plus a week.

Missing Rhys Healey?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"Absolutely. Rhys was just coming into his own and he gives us something else, he can run in behind the striker."

"He was really unlucky and I keep saying to him when I see him that it’s an opportunity for him to get back right and not rush it.
But it is a shame because I would have thought he’d become a regular, he was flying at that time and we haven’t got anybody like him in the squad in that role."

"We are looking at that area, as well as a few others to strengthen in the summer."

Neil Warnock wants more from Bennett

Neil Warnock:

"I want to know if he can be consistent and continue it."

"It’s not good having two good games then giving two goals away, so I’ll be looking at him with interest - more than anybody else - between now and the end of the season.Because there’s a player under the shirt, no doubt."

"We can’t afford next season to have a player who plays well three times, then a bad one. We need someone who is 8 or 9 out of 10 every week."

Neil Warnock on Sheffield Wednesday

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I always get a nice warm welcome and that spurs me on. We’ve always had that rivalry in Sheffield and it’s healthy, there’s nothing wrong with it. Just good camaraderie between the two clubs."

"It’s been good to see Sheffield United back in the Championship and Blades fans will want a local derby next year - so they’ll be cheering me on."

"Wednesday spent more on one player in January than we’ve spent. It’s a great atmosphere and I‘ve got a lot of time for Carlos.
I’ve got a sneaky feeling whichever of Sheffield Wednesday or Fulham get in the play-offs could go all the way."

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I've nearly managed Sheffield Wednesday on a couple of occasions!"

"I’ve nearly managed them on a couple of occasions and I think quite a few of the fans would have accepted me, although a couple wouldn’t!"

"I like Hillsborough and if you take the stick in the right way, it’s great. You need that relationship between fans and management. Good sense of humour can be few and far between at times. I know I’ll get stick but I want my team to do my talking for me."

"I enjoy the sense that a few clubs around the country, but that’s why I demand a certain level of performance from my team. I don’t want to be stood there 5-0 down at half time, getting abused AND battered."

10 years on from the Tevez controversy

NEIL WARNOCK:

"Thanks for that! From both parties, if we’d have known then what we know now Sheff Utd might have tried to keep me on, because I think we might have come back up the next season and built from that."

"They’ve been in the wilderness since but careers take different paths. The Tevez thing will always be a bit bitter in my mind, simply because if it had been the other way round, I’m convinced Sheffield United would have been deducted points."

"They got £25m but I didn’t get any of that. It was a disappointment because 38 points is more than enough to stay up, I think you’ll find that this year. People tend to forget we got 38 points."
