' How the squad is going to look next season? '

Tue Apr 11, 2017 12:07 pm

Interesting to see what everyone thinks we need to bring in and let go over the summer.

I'd like to see the following be sold or released, plus players going back from loans etc:
Mcgregor
Amos
John
Whitts (unless he takes low contract offer)
Adayemi
Noone
Pilkington
Le fondre
Guonongbe
Lambert

That would leave
Murphy
Wilson (3rd choice)
Peltier
Richards
Manga (if we can keep him)
Morison
Bamba
Connolly
Bennett
Halford
Gunnarsson
Ralls
Hoillett
Harris
Zohore
Healey

This would leave us with a thin squad and nowhere near a good enough team to fight for promotion.
So ideally we'd get
A new GK
(CB IF manga goes)
Left back
Quality all round central midfielder
Creative midfielder
Winger
2 strikers

Thoughts??

I totally trust Warnock but part of me thinks that he could do something with Adayemi.

his contract expires in 2 months, hasnt been here for 2 years .why do you think there is even a 1% chance we will A} offer him a new contract {which he would have to do for Warnock to do something with him } B} he would risk signing it even if offered one{seeing as his time at Cardiff has been so productive and enjoyable }

Couldn't remember everyone off the top of my head

Read an article the other day saying that Huws and Okeefe may be signed by their current loan clubs and I think that's best for all parties really. Not sure about Kennedy maybe warnock is the man to get something out of him but I wouldn't be bothered if he went as well. And judging by what warnock said about Saadi in caerphilly the other week looks like he won't be back either. Don't think there's anyone else

Low compared to what he's currently on??? Warnocks previusoly stated that he can't stay on as much money as he is this season because of FFP and the fact that he needs money for new additions next season.

Pretty predictable stuff, if I'm being honest.

A few wobbly ifs, buts and maybe's in there! Obviously not a thinking day! LOL ;) :laughing6: :laughing6:

fair answer,Warnock did say that.
the question is, how much lower. and how that compares to other players whose contribution and game time is less than his.
ive read figures on here suggesting we should pay pay him 1/5 th of what Lambert is reputedly on. who in their right mind would sign for that.in any job?
personally i think we should be offering him a wage competitive to what he can get elsewhere on the basis that we know exactly what we are getting instead of signing another huws or immers that might and might not work out.
not holding my breath though. i think he will leave.

Lambert will still be here next season, hopefully playing and scoring some goals. Get him fit and he will score.

Didn't realise he was out of contract.

But I don't expect him to stay, my point was I think Warnock could potentially male him into a decent player for us.

Very true, still think he might be one that turns a corner at some point in his career under a good manager.
