Neil Warnock on blooding youngsters
NEIL WARNOCK:
“At Sheffield United, we had Jagielka, Tonge and Montgomery who all came through the same system and it was great to establish them.
“Similar things happened at Palace with Victor Moses.
“There are players around but at the moment, at the top level it’s easier to go abroad and spend £20m. Managers don’t look beyond the next year.
“The club’s got to have a good grounding and bring the academy through in the right way, away from the manager.
“They’ll tell us, can so and so come and train with us. There’s one or two good lads who aren’t out place.
“We get the best of the age groups training with us.
“I’ll be disappointed if I can’t give Mark Harris a game before the end of the season. I wanted Rhys to have a good run too but that’s gone now.”
