Neil Warnock on Brentford

Neil Warnock:

“Dean’s done a really good job, they lost the top scorer Hogan and you thought he was irreplaceable but they’ve carried on and play an entertaining brand of football.
“I’ve never had a dull game against them. I’ve had some good games against them, going back to my days at Huddersfield.
“There’s nothing at stake really but both managers will be making judgements and that’s what these games are about now.”

'New EFL rules won't change much'

Just a reminder that, as of next season, clubs will have to name at least one ‘club developed’ player in matchday squads.

NEIL WARNOCK:

“I don’t think it’ll change anything.
“If they haven’t got one good enough they’ll put one in the squad. You’ve just got to concentrate on your squad and try to get one into the team.
“I don’t look that far ahead but I don’t think it’ll change that much.
“Jamie (academy manager) and Craig’s been there to help out. It’s his enthusiasm we love.
“He’s full of it, no matter what age group. I imagine they’ll be very proud when they see members make the first team.
“I think there’s one or two promising lads in the 16s and 18s. We’ve talked about that.
“We’ll be playing a lot of our under-18s in the under-23s next season.
“I think the 18s would gain something from that.”

Neil Warnock on blooding youngsters

NEIL WARNOCK:

“At Sheffield United, we had Jagielka, Tonge and Montgomery who all came through the same system and it was great to establish them.
“Similar things happened at Palace with Victor Moses.
“There are players around but at the moment, at the top level it’s easier to go abroad and spend £20m. Managers don’t look beyond the next year.
“The club’s got to have a good grounding and bring the academy through in the right way, away from the manager.
“They’ll tell us, can so and so come and train with us. There’s one or two good lads who aren’t out place.
“We get the best of the age groups training with us.
“I’ll be disappointed if I can’t give Mark Harris a game before the end of the season. I wanted Rhys to have a good run too but that’s gone now.”

Sol Bamba ruled out of Cardiff City's clash with Brentford

Sol Bamba has been ruled out of Cardiff City's Championship clash with Brentford through injury.

The centre-back limped off the pitch during the Bluebirds' 0-0 draw with Barnsley at Oakwell on Tuesday night, being replaced by captain Sean Morrison who started the game in south Yorkshire on the bench.

And Neil Warnock has revealed the defender is not fit to face the Bees in the Welsh capital on Saturday.

"It’s difficult to say with Sol," said Warnock.

"He’s had a scan but he won’t be available for the weekend. It doesn’t look good."

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor was also forced off in the game against the Tykes, with his understudy Brian Murphy coming in midway through the match at Oakwell.

And Warnock will give the Scot until the last minute to see whether or not he's fit to face Brentford, although the Cardiff boss admitted he was pleased with Murphy's performance in the second half against Paul Heckingbottom's side.

"McGregor’s bruising has gone down a lot and if there’s any doubt he won’t play," added the Cardiff manager.

"Murphy has done well when he’s played so we won't risk him (McGregor)."

Bamba's absence means Warnock is likely to stick with Bruno Manga in the centre of his defence, with skipper Morrison set to return to the starting side at Cardiff City Stadium.

BREAKING NEWS " CARDIFF'S COSTLY STRIKER LEAVING? "

http://www.annisabraham.co.uk/2017/04/0 ... r-leaving/ :bluebird:

Rickie Lambert': Ex-England striker's Cardiff City future in doubt

Lambert so far has cost Cardiff approx £1,2mill in wages.

What the hell were City doing signing an injured/unfit player? ?

' WARNOCK AT TODAYS PRESS CONFERANCE '

Neil Warnock:"Lambert does not feature in City's first team plans"

The problem is Lambert has another year on his contract at Cardiff City.

Rickie Lambert faces an uncertain future at Cardiff City after manager Neil Warnock said the striker does not currently feature in his first-team plans.

England international Lambert, 35, joined from West Brom in August but has only scored four goals.

A combination of injuries and indifferent form mean the 35-year-old has not played since 11 February.

"He's fully fit but it's not a matter of him being fit now.," Warnock said.

"Is he better than the others on the squad at the moment? I've felt not."

"He is training but at the moment I don't think he's happy with his fitness. He's going to be training hard and trying to get back in the squad."

Lambert signed a two-year deal when he joined on transfer deadline day in August, but Warnock hinted he could be ready to sell players who are under contract at the end of the season.
