Neil Warnock's Cardiff City experiment against Barnsley proved and showed how poor some of Warnocks squad really is.

Neil Warnock admitted he was going to use Cardiff City's end of the season to experiment and for me it worked.

Yes City grinder out a hard earned draw, but their was no flair.imagination, desire or even go in some of the City players.

Sol Bamba was made captain for the night after Warnock dropped Sean Morrison.

Bamba had kept the Cardiff City defence solid against a very lively Barnsley side and for me Bamba and Manga looked like a good partnership.

Kenneth Johore did not have one of his better games, but then there was no service from the Cardiff midfield.

Neil Warnock had made five changes and wanted to see what options he has already in his squad before making final decisions of changes for the summer.

There def was a lack of quality from the Cardiff midfield and the lack of creativity or understanding from the front players was not there.

' DECLAN JOHN & ANTHONY PILKINGTON '

Declan John for me was virtually non existant and showed nothing to warrant keeping him and Anthony Pilkington in his usual role chased balls and worked hard but left Zohore isolated so his hold-up play was wasted and Zhores first shot was in the 92nd minute.

' CRAIG NOONE & GREG HALFORD '

Craig Noone looked lifeless and not interested and Greg Halford was not himself next to a tired Aron Gunnarsson who once again gave his all.

Neil Warnock will have, however, have been happy by what he saw at the back having made the shock choice to drop Sean Morrison.

' SEAN MORRISON '

Sean Morrison for me is not a leader and never seems to be vocal on the pitch.

Sean Morrison had been criticised for his failure to deal with Wolves' aerial threat last Saturday and perhaps this game was a chance to see how City would do without him as Captain.

While Sol Bamba was on the pitch,Bamba and Bruno Manga looked solid and could be the perfect partnership for next season?

Over all Neil Warnock will have seen in my opinion that Anthony Pilkington,Craig Noone,Declan John can move on this summer.

Also that if Warnock can keep Manga then Bamba and Manga will be a quality partnership for next season.

For me what was good to see if Brian Murphy is called upon he can do a good job :thumbright:

Annis

Do you know which players are out of contract in the summer and which players have a year left also ?

I can see a Harry Redknapp wheeler dealer type summer with ten going out the door maybe more then five or six coming in on permanent deals possibly topped up with a loan or two from a premier club and get the feeling will be youngsters.

Looking forward to the summer dealings and finally getting rid of players that have taken Cardiff city's charity for to long without performing.

These days are now firmly behind us  :ayatollah:

Dobbins, I put them out the other day, I am off out now, but will find them later and put them on here :thumbright:

Declan John, Kadeem Harris and Bruno Manga are out of contract and a few more.

I agree Bamba/Magna axis at the back would be the dream partnership, with Bamba also taking over the Captaincy

Some of the other players seem to have already made their minds up that they are going including Noone and John.

not sure Tuesday was a failure. or in fact a poor performance.
a point at Barnsley {above us in league} is a good result. but more importantly he picked a weakened/experimental team to go there. if the game plan was to go there and outplay them it was a huge failure.but if the game plan was to see if we could be organised ,prevent and disrupt the opposition and come home with a point .it was a success.

Hoilett's agreement expires at the end of the season and, of course, Whitts' contract is up.

McGregor goes back to Hull. I am not sure about Brian Murphy.

Off the players mentioned so far the only two I can see warnock trying to keep will be Holliet and Manga if the waves are right.

Personally as much as I like Manga he is injury prone and don't we lose him for a month of the season for the African Cup of Nations unless he has retired from international football. Therefore I would not keep him.

Still think at least ten will go - five or six quality players on frees and maybe small fees mixed with two on loan young hungry premiership loan players.

Let's get our business done earlier NW  :ayatollah:

We still need 3/4 points to avoid relegation but we should get those if we experiment or not.

I believe as we come to end of this "experimental" phase it will be obvious who we will want out and who to remain. I fear we will be disappointed with what we end up with or lose. Manga would be a good keep but have a feeling he will go. I would lose no sleep on Noone going but have a feelin no one will want him. I'm not sure if his contract is up or not, hopefully is. It's time for John to find somehwere else.

I would like to see Murphy remain.
