Declan John was last night given a chance by Neil Warnock.
Given a chance wide on the left of midfield but saw precious little ball and didn't look confident when he did get possession.
For me Declan John has now played under at least 5 Cardiff City managers and has over all failed badly.
I always believed Declan would make it, I have been proved badly wrong and now it's really time Declan moved on.

Why we keep bringing him back for a game I don't know
He is simply not good enough

Certainly did not take his chance last night.
Pilkington and Noone also had very poor games.

All three can go as far as I am concerned, big savings as well in money and players do nothing for us.

Others players need to rest that's why.

Declan has never really done enough to warrant a start, which is a real shame because he did look a decent player a few years ago.
No one has always blown hot and cold...but this years biggest disappointment has been Pilks..was one of,if not our best player last season, but has done virtually nothing this year.

Yes. Strange that the three players who revived a flagging season last year - Pilkington, O'Keefe and Immers - have had little impact this year. Two of them have already effectively left. I'm not sure about Pilkington, but if a case is made for Connolly at the back because of his versatility, then then same case can be made for Pilkington can be made for midfield/up front. Useful to have on the bench and as a backup.

Very much agree, but Pilks is sure to be on a huge salary just to be a squad player. Not sure we can afford that luxury

You do get the feeling that getting a 'chance' @ Barnsley away on a Tuesday night playing a defensive strategy, was a way of setting the guy up to fail.
That said he has had chances before now and not really taken them. Probably needs to move down a League or Two to revive his career which has badly stalled.

I was also proved wrong I really thought he would breakthrough this season. But there again we all can't have the foresight of Nubbys who probably saw this coming years ago.....

Declan john needs to be given a run of games but unfortunately not with us.

Not good enough and never was and played for us in the Premier

He and Andrew Taylor as Premiership full backs; never in a million years.

Should have been sent on loan to a lower championship or league 1 club. A run of games is what he needs.
Agree sadly time is up for him at the city. Could prove down the line to be a regret if he joins another club.

Ive never understood why he has been kept around so long, not enough as a defender and not enough for a wide player. A move to league 1 or 2 would be best for him to get games and experience then one day maybe he will make the step up to the championship.
Although it seems both wide players struggled last night, was this due to Gunnar and Halford as a middle two, hardly known for being creative or great passers.

Tony, I honestly thought Declan would make it under the right manager, what a shame,as a local boy and not on high wages like most of our squad.
Hopefully Declan gets a new club, prob lower divisions.
