Off we mow! Molineux is pitch perfect ahead of Cardiff clash
Friday March 31, 2017
Groundsmen practise a spot of synchronised mowing as they prepare the Molineux pitch for this weekend’s game.
Three men went to mow – groundsmen mowing the grass as they prepare the Molineux pitch for this weekend’s game
With just nine matches left to the end of the season – six of them at home – the backroom staff want to make sure the pitch is perfect, even if the players’ form hasn’t quite reached that level this season.
In preparation for match days, the groundsmen cut the grass, roll and aerate it – and their job doesn’t end when the season does.
During the summer they sprinkle thousands of litres of water over the surface to stop it drying out, also making sure it is properly fertilised.
But for the moment, it’s all about getting ready for the referee’s inspection before Saturday’s kick-off against Cardiff City.
With Wolves hovering just five points above the relegation zone, the players are expected to leave no blade of grass unturned to notch up a win.
