Vincent Tans changes Cardiff City's kit back to Blue


Owner Vincent Tan switched the club’s home shirts from the traditional blue to red in the summer of 2012, but, after pressure from supporters, reversed the decision in January 2015.

In July 2015 when Gavin Rae was interviewed.

Gavin Rae welcomed the move, but said the switch should never have happened in the first place.

Gavin Rae:
“He is obviously a huge investor, but you’ve got to remember, it’s not been his club for the whole of history,” said Rae. “It’s never been red for starters."

"I support Aberdeen, they have obviously always been red and if they changed to a different colour it would be bizarre. It’s like Rangers or Celtic changing their colours, it’s unthinkable, no-one would even contemplate it."

“It’s paramount the club now focuses on matters on the pitch, there has just been so much stuff going on off the pitch the last couple of years.

“It is obviously much better now things are back to being blue, and the new strip is lovely. Cardiff are in the right place now, but it is a factor they could have dome without over the last couple of years.”

The rebrand has been done to death on here and it does make me wonder why the media keep bringing it up especially when the club is moving forward

Like it or not, this has become part of the club's history. Highlights like our European adventures, cup finals, FA cup victory, Ninian Park, John Toshack etc., are part of our history and will be good memories. The fact that we did'nt like our struggles at the bottom of the league, the re-brand and the division it caused among fans, our defeats to the Jacks and so on does'nt mean that they will be erased from our history and never be brought up in conversation. You can bet that every book written about Cardiff City in the future will have some reference to the re-brand, and the split that caused with our fans. Unfortunately, you cannot erase history, and anything and everything to do with this club will invariably be brought up from time to time.

Wonder if these fans still talk about Leeds and Liverpool changing colours? Doubt it and be same with city it's history and that's where it will remain same as everything else good and bad thats happened at city .
