Millwall face action after fans target Spurs forward Heung-min Son with racist chanting in FA Cup tie

Spurs removed advertising hoardings from the away end to ensure they could not be vandalised

Telegraph

12 MARCH 2017

Millwall could be in more trouble with the Football Association after their fans targeted Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-min Son with racist chants during Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final.

South Korea international Son was subjected to chants of ‘DVD’ and ‘he’s selling three for a fiver’ by a section of the travelling Millwall fans at White Hart Lane.

Annis although trouble as been eradicated from stadiums the potential outside is high with the right clubs involved! For this reason the clamour we have on here for putting canton stand next to away fans is just asking for problems after the game? Brum fans were out and on motorway within 20mins of end game because didn't need segregation from home fans after game. Which would not be case If canton stand was where family stand is?

Millwall face action after fans target Spurs forward Heung-min Son with racist chants in FA Cup tie

The reference to selling DVDs is widely known to be a racist term when aimed at Asian footballers.

Son did not let the abuse get the better of him, as the 24-year-old scored a hat-trick in Tottenham’s 6-0 victory over their League One opponents that clinched a semi-final place.

Tottenham substitute Kyle Walker appeared to acknowledge the chanting that had been aimed at Son by celebrating his first goal by pointing towards the Millwall fans.

Be a few dawn raids in the next few weeks. Idiots, do they seriously still think they'll just get a slap on the wrist and a banning order? Same old Millwall, but spurs ain't blameless in this. They should take a leaf out of our book. Best behaved supporters!!

Again mainly pushing and shouting quite pathetic people trying to make out that's trouble. Out thought out manoeuvred by police and out teched.

Most disturbing thing about it all is the guy with his kid who clearly don't want to be there.

Why are we try to glamourise this??

There may be little trouble at Cardiff games these days but we're certainly not the best behaved supporters.

Not really. Outside is outside and (if they are minded to do so) rival supporters could still easily confront each other as they exit the stadium and mix pretty freely (head on at one point before the bus depot on Sloper Road) these days

The 'mix' of supporters before (where many Brum fans were confused as to how to get to the away end, which is back up the public highway) and after the game on the weekend is testament to that

Inside is completely different and the CCS is well segregated and trouble is highly unlikely. Bringing the 'Canton' fans into what is now the Family Stand would IMHO only improve the generally flat atmosphere at the CCS

It appears the 'handbags' between Millwall and Spurs (not saints themselves, as we know all too well) supporters didn't amount to much but, as always, selective imagery and reporting will paint a different picture of events

And I would have thought Mouthy Millwall went home with their tails between their legs after a drubbing at a White Hot Lane that was achieved even without their in-foorm striker, Harry Kane :ayatollah:

selective imagery is spot on. a close look will show ALL bar 1 of these pictures was taken where the away fans had to cross the High rd from Church st to Park Lane. the police had stopped both traffic and pedestrians on the high road for the Millwall contingent to cross which created a back log of Spurs either side. resulting in insults and Faux anger.
fully agree with changing ends at CCS . i really dont care how long it takes away fans to get to M4. in fact id welcome them being stuck in car park until we are all out.

Noticed the a age of the Millwall fans yesterday on the television many came out of retirement/semi retirement for this, some will be making mail bags so to speak pretty soon! I never knew Rick from Pawn Stars was a Millwall hoolie ????
