That's what you call looking after the fans. And thank you Bradford for showing that this model is NOT impossible and NOT ridiculous. They do it Germany, we can do it here.

Jack this is Bradford's 4th successive year they've been doing this and every year it has increased yet Bradford have remained in the lower divisions.

Not impossible and great for Bradford fans but how many clubs following their lead 2 maybe 3 If any? German model again is good but don't see anyone else following it in Europe? Recently went through all this and there are pros and cons for doing it or not just depends on a clubs outlook financially!

Allan, it will be interesting to see who follows? Huddersfield have this season and its worked so far
First Bradford are debt free thanks to the way their owner runs Bradford City and 2nd they have earned good money through merchandise, sponsorships(due to big crowds) and the catering is all the clubs

They're only five points off automatic promotion too.
Their fans could be watching Championship football for £150 next season.
They've been knocking on the door of promotion for a few years now, so maybe this is their year.

Personally hope it does catch on but it does have it's limitations ?for instance what if Bradford get promoted to improve squad it will take more money than it does now in their league ! How will they pay for it if prices are so low with capacity full at stadium? They have low walk up fans for home games due to cheap ST! Like said be interesting to see if other clubs see it as way forward? It's Def not regarding championship that's for sure.

We can all afford to spend 500 so dont be tight fisted. It all goes towards a good cause like players wages lol. Them prices bradford are charging are to fan friendly.

Part of problem is real fans can't afford the prices now unless of course in premier then what happens is you get new people who can afford the prices! That's what happened at city no doubt.

The argument is always that income at those prices is no different to other clubs with less fans but I'd rather this to half empty stadia.
For the.model to really work you need to be dragging in 40 or 50 thousand fans as they do in Germany.
However to get that amount of fans you'd be in the Prem and THEN you can charge whatever you want and the real fans will be replaced by jonny come lately's.

In income terms Bradford City are quite a small club ( their holding company accounts for 2015 didn't need an audit, suggesting their total income was less than £6.5m) with what must be a correspondingly low wage bill and other running costs if they do make a profit. If they were operating at Championship level their wage bill would go up by a huge amount ( seeHuddersfield example below) and there would be big pressure on them to put up season ticket prices to cover this.
Huddersfield have lost £7m in each of the last two sets of accounts filed (2014 and 2015) despite their wages bill being only about £13m which is very low by Championship standards.
So it would appear that significantly dropping season ticket prices in the Championship is not a model that works financially.

The German model works because of big attendances and very big commercial sponsorship deals. Also there is a high percentage of fan ownership.

Add 2 mill to our total debt of 12o mill and slash fickets by half price. Match day income from 4 down to 2 big deal on the scale of things. To many fans willing to piss money away on 11 blue shirts on a washing line every sat. The club shows us no loyalty we are seen as cash cows.

Simple salutation for you as you are obviously pissed off with paying money to see city play ? Just don't go save your money for what you feel is worth it?
