' THIS WAS A TOUGH GAME FOR CARDIFF CITY'S WARNOCK TODAY '

For me a draw would of been a fair result.

City's unbeaten run of four games came to an end.

First-half QPR over all looked the better team, with Sol Bamba outstanding in defence and then scoring just before the half-time whistle, City went in at 0-1,being more happy with that score-line.

Second-half City for periods looked the better team, but QPR put the ball in the net more, funny old game.

For me this was a match that brought together two of the biggest name managers of the Championship, Neil Warnock and Ian Holloway.

QPR 2 V CARDIFF CITY 1

City Scorer
45th min Sol Bamba

McGregor, Connolly, Bamba, Morrison, Richards, Ralls, Gunnarsson, Hoilett, Harris, Noone, Zohore.

Subs Murphy, Bennett, Whittingham, John, Halford, Pilkington, M. Harris.

Away 1,852 Cardiff Fans :bluebird: :bluebird:
Cardiff started brightly with Ralls playing well and getting better every game,City looked the better team for the first 15mins.

QPR came in to the game and hit the crossbar.

As the game went on QPR had more chances including QPR'S Washington striking the post.

QPR continued to press forward, but time and time again, Bamba blocked them, closed them down etc

Then out of the blue in the 45th min , Sol Bamba scored for City 0-1
Craig Noone's corner from the left and Bamba met it with an absolute peach of a header :ayatollah:

H/T QPR 0 CARDIFF CITY 1

http://www.annisabraham.co.uk/2017/03/0 ... ock-today/ :bluebird: :bluebird:

First six minutes City started well again and Craig Noone was brought down in the penalty area but nothing given.

City dominated for periods and deserved to be two nil up.

Then in the 63rd min QPR scored from a shot in to the roof of the Cardiff net by QPR substitute Yeni Ngbakoto.

72nd min Pilkington came on for Noone.

It was end to end and anyones game.

QPR in the 83rd min QPR'S Smith headed the ball in the net 2-1, deflecting of Jazz Richards to make it an own goal.

City then attacked looking for the equaliser.

nothing to play for now really let's be honest, can't win them all, they kept Zohore quiet but again we seemed to miss a flurry of chances early on similar to Fulham

Not going down or up,but if cardiff are seriously going to go for promotion next season, these are games they need to pick up points from,Warnock still got a lot of work to do

I agree Warnock is going to have a lot of work on his hands this Summer.

One game ago we had a good side and needed additions, now we need loads of work. Can't make it up.

Because they lost a football match in a competitive division? I am quite sure that can happen. How did Brighton get off today?

Bounce back Tuesday just goes to show Zohore the only out and out striker we don't have enough players in certain positions to change it.

Not to worry onwards and upwards.

NW to get at least 8 in imo with fees-loans and frees will give us better strength throughout.

Whitts not used again signs of he is on his way out!

A defeat was always going to be just around the corner, and QPR have always been a difficult team for us to play against. Only thing we can do is pick ourselves up and go again next week

Yes we do have work, but I think every manager in every division does. Sides always looking to improve, what is an absolute shoe in at championship level is defeats. I just think sometimes when you come on the forum after a win or a defeat the posts are so far apart, where in reality you shouldn't get to disheartened after a defeat or to carried away after a win.

I have not changed my mind because they lost today, we always knew this Summer will Warnocks chance to finally clear all the dead wood and make his team :thumbright:

Re: ' THIS WAS A TOUGH GAME FOR CARDIFF CITY'S WARNOCK TODAY

Sat Mar 04, 2017 7:01 pm

Good results of late but I still think the squad needs a bit of work to have enough to go up. Warnock has a lot of deadwood to get rid of and I think we need replacements for a few who start regular. I would think we would need at least 6 good players to come in.

Re: ' THIS WAS A TOUGH GAME FOR CARDIFF CITY'S WARNOCK TODAY

Sat Mar 04, 2017 7:18 pm

Work needed in Summer and I'm sure NE realised this long before today.
We have some good players who I'm sure will still be here next season and we have some dead wood. Losing today hasn't altered anything IMO

Who would you replace that starts regular?

Thought both sides were quite poor today. A lot of mishit aerial stuff and hit and hope from Morrison in particular. We looked much better when we tried to keep the ball on the deck. Beginning to hate QPR. Cocky tw@ts giving it large.

It depends on the fee they would bring in but potentially morrison, Noone (only starting recently) and people won't like this but Gunnarson if the fee was a decent one as I think warnock could repace him easier and use that money to bring in other key areas. Also feel a lot of games especially when we have more of the ball the game misses him by.

I also think we need better at fullback so some of Bennett, Richards. I'd keep connelly as he is so versatile.
