Neil Warnock reveals he has plans in place for summer business

Neil Warnock says he already has plans in place for the summer as he looks to strengthen his squad for a promotion bid.
The Bluebirds’ boss signed a one-year extension on his current deal on Saturday to keep him in South Wales for at least another year.
Warnock is hoping to achieve his record-breaking eighth promotion with the Bluebirds and even though he and chairman Mehmet Dalman only agreed on the budget for next season in the last week or so, the veteran boss has been planning his summer business ‘for months’.
Preparation is key as they say and Warnock is adopting that method as he looks to replicate the success achieved with QPR in 2011 with Cardiff City.
“I’ve been planning for weeks and nothing changes. We have opportunities now against one or two teams and I want to look at a few players and see if we can get better than them or not,” said Warnock.
“Certain players are playing for their places at the minute and that’s how it should be. And all credit to them, their showing what they can do – We’ve had four tough games now and we’ve got 10 points, so it isn’t bad is it?”
The 68-year-old also opened up on his discussions with Mehmet Dalman regarding finances for next season and how to avoid the Financial Fair Play rules which left Cardiff in muddy water last season.
He added: “I spoke to Mehmet (Dalman) and he spoke to Vincent (Tan) in great length. We spoke about the budget and FFP, which I have to contribute to and I’ve told them I can do certain amounts too.
“And together, we’ve said if we all do our jobs right it will give us a chance. We can’t say we’re going to get promotion, all we’re saying is we’ll have a good try at having a good season because we’re up against three teams who will come down on massive budgets.
“Look at Brighton – they’ve taken four years and we’ve tried to do it in three months – but we just have to hope we keep going. We’ll try to answer a few questions between now and the end of the season, then have a good pre-season and get into it rather than worrying about the bottom end.”
Warnock and Dalman are both hoping to bring players in as soon as possible when the summer window opens toa get the squad playing together from the off.
It’s also been revealed that the board have given the former QPR boss the go-ahead on his pre-season plans, but there’s no news on where the Bluebirds are headed just yet.

That's my worry, haven't missed a pre season for over ten years, no disrespect to Cornwall but somewhere a little further afield.
Besides it will be cheaper to go abroad than Cornwall that time of year, prices are sky high when the kids are off.

Not sure Warnock will fit in the teams pre season around your holiday plans Mr Llantwit....but give him a ring you never know
but to be fair to you I have to agree Cornwall is ridiculously expensive in July/August

Paul anywhere bar Cornwall, I have to go down there with work in the summer, it's a nightmare with traffic and the price for hotels they shoot through the roof.
