QPR to wear special white kit to mark 1967 anniversary

QPR will wear a limited-edition white kit against Cardiff City on Saturday to mark the 50th anniversary of the club’s 1967 League Cup final triumph.

Rangers wore white at Wembley the day they famously came back from 2-0 down against West Brom to win the trophy.

Then a Third Division side, they were given little chance against their top-flight opponents but pulled off a sensational victory.



The 500 commemorative strips produced will go on sale on Saturday morning, with 50% of the profit made going towards The Forever R’s club – the former players’ association recent set up by Rangers.

“The kit is fabulous – lovely. I think the kit is very appropriate,” Lazarus said.

May have only been in the third division at the time but just looking at the line up they had then you can understand how they progressed up the leagues as they had some class players and some youngsters that would light up the first division.
