Not surprising, it is the 5th most populated City in England.

Only London, Birmingham, Leeds & Sheffield are bigger.

Really with their fans mainly only coming from Bradford and a large part of their population Asian who don't like football.
Rugby League is massive in Bradford.
Also I rem them only getting 4,000 home crowds at the old Valley Parade.

Plus Bradford has to compete with at least 15 other clubs near by with many watching Leeds,Man United, Man City etc.
They have no pulling power to get fans from outside Bradford, most areas go to Leeds and Bradford has a massive Leeds fan base.
For 20 years their club has looked after its fan base and its repaying them with loyalty no matter what division :thumbright:

It's great support and Leeds is only 8 miles away .

Cardiff has the 10th biggest City population in the U.K and is expected to grow to 480,000 in the next 10 years or so.

Our support away is poor if you factor in the above.

Joff, we also pull our fan base from a million people and from areas of 40-50 miles away.

Last season I went to some away games with Cardiff and we took 89 and a 100 odd fans, we have lost our diehards support due to our club for years not caring etc

The diffians don't follow the city, harsh but true. Awful support from within the capital, so it can increase to whatever size it wants but the surrounding towns and villages and valleys remain the heartbeat of city, I don't take any joy in posting that and it's a strange situation but a factual one. Just a yuck glance at the flags, buses and faces tells us that.

Why? I have absolutely no idea, but it's true.

Again that's incorrect. The club have done surveys on Cardiffs support based on addresses on its data base. Considerably over 50% was from the City itself. The club needs to attract the floating support next season. The five games a year brigade.

That's correct 50% of the fanbase is from the area immediately around the ground according to the database.also our home crowds are at a record high at the moment.

Thats correct 50% of our support comes from Cardiff itself, most clubs home supports are far higher than they were in the 80's & 90's a fact, nearly every club in the Country is higher. Thankfully we've had nearly 16 years of virtually only success :thumbright:

Sadly our away support has become one of the lowest in the Country, that needs to be addressed :thumbright: :bluebird:

I've no facts to back this up but I'm amazed that Manchester and Liverpool aren't above Bradford, population wise :?:

Manchester is far far bigger than Bradford with out a doubt with its surrounding areas,Greater Manchester etc.

Greater Manchester Metropolitan County 2,618,200

Bradford is 500,000. A very densley populated City with one of the biggest populations of Asians in the Uk, with over 125,000 Asians.

Only once I have been to Bradford and I have to say that I could sense the tension in the air wherever we went. We were going for a meal from our hotel (500 yards away approx.) and the receptionist insisted on ordering us a taxi and she basically said you don't walk more than 100 yards around most parts of the city after 9.

I lived outside Bradford, but worked in Bradford for 2 years and I can tell you now, Blacks would fight Asians, Asians would fight whites and vice versa. It is very very political and ready to erupt at any minute.
Rem this is not everyone, but a lot more than in most Cities.

But I have to say, I made many many good friends there from all the different communities and I am still friends with them all to this day :thumbright: :thumbright:
