Crystal Palace fans vandalise own team's coach after mistaking it for Middlesbrough's vehicle

Monday 27th February 2017

Crystal Palace fans' attempts to stamp their mark on Middlesbrough prior to the two teams' game on Saturday went wrong, as they mistakenly vandalised their own team's coach.

Just hours before the crucial 1-0 victory, secured by Patrick van Aanholt's goal, the Crystal Palace team bus was vandalised while parked outside a hotel near Selhurst Park.

The words 'Crystal Palace FC' were sprayed onto a red and blue background on the bus, causing damage in a case of mistaken identity, as those responsible thought they were tagging the Middlesbrough coach.

Some of the letter spacing is a bit iffy, but otherwise I thought it looks pretty good.

(A London-based coach-driving friend of mine tells me it was in retaliation for a similar artwork created earlier in the season by Middlesbrough fans on the Palace coach. Doubly funny.)
