We looked a bit tired today

Sat Feb 25, 2017 6:09 pm

Considering Fulham have played twice since we last had a game I thought that they looked a lot fresher and fitter than we did today.

It's great to see all our players working so hard and putting in a shift every game and when we put Fulham under pressure I felt we had them really rattled at times but we ran out of steam halfway through the second half and it was backs to the wall until the end of the game.

Really good game though and Fulham one of the best teams at the CCS this season for me.

Hopefully with a proper pre-season rather than the poor one this season we'll be a lot fitter at the start of next season.

City look so fit, the way they have kept it going of late has been superb but that energy can sometimes catch up with you. Fitness isn't the issue, a small squad and chasing a passing team

That, combined with a) the lads have given absolutely everything the last 11 games, and b) warnock only made one sub today, which baffles me

Yes not sure why didn't put on subs as could see we were struggling but having said that did come back into it last 5 mins and should have scored last minute !

Tom cairney ran the show for them

Yeah can't understand why Warnock didn't bring fresh legs on. Especially with 20 to go everyone could see few were burnt out. Thought maybe pilks on give Kenneth bit of help up top. Personally I thought Harris should of been taken off thought he got bit tired/lazy last 20

Sat far too deep and played it too slow for Warnock.

i have fully bought into the Warnock revolution and have come to terms that we won't be playing pretty passing football with someone like Whitts sitting in front of the back 4 passing it around like Fulham did.

We have pace and are direct, but it's within a game plan.

And I prefer Neil's style of play straight to the point attack. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

In his post match interview Warnock said that Halford and Pilkington were carrying minor injuries and - given the state of the game and how the starting 11 were keeping going - he didn't want to risk them. However, he also admitted that a couple should have been subbed after 70 minutes if he'd had the right options on the bench. If Pilks and Halford were there as subs of last resort, the only other attacking options were Whitts, Declan or Mark Harris - and Declan got on eventually. I imagine he didn't want to slow things down with Whitts (wrong type of game for him) and reluctant to throw Harris on against a good passing team at that stage.

But that does ask questions about the depth of the squad and who Warnock trusts - and why players were on the bench if he was so reluctant to play them. The only other option - who isn't injured (like Lambert, Healey, Peltier, Manga) is Fred Guonogbe.

But he knows this hence the need for better options next season.

What about Meite?

Was named as a sub
But think he was the guy who warmed up before the game with the squad and at half time
