A question that crops up with any football supporter is the Premier League the best league in the world?
I had numerous debates with people about it but I still disagree that it is the best..
Like people say look at the players, managers etc.. but most of these players and managers are pinched from other divisions/countries where they were developed into the top talents or top managers/coaches. For me that's not making it the best but making it an attraction.
Personally I believe in terms of players and managers being developed it has to be Bundesliga and Serie A which for me makes them the best leagues. If you was to be a top league surely you'd be able to produce your own top players and managers where I don't think England do enough, they all appreciate their home comforts and too scared to develop or adapt their game and lifestyle by going to leagues abroad, on the top of my head only Joe Hart is doing that and that's only because of Pep.

There are certainly better teams playing in some of the foreign leagues that we have in the PL. Always up for debate which league is the best, bet there are better teams around than we have in the PL. When was the last time a British team won the Champions League?

Chelsea the last to win in 2012 only one British team to reach the semi final in 5 years is Man City last year that's not good enough for British and no wonder that the Prem will lose a Champions league spot due to the poor performances in the competition.

Yes the league is......Its the depth that makes it what it is
Let the 10th placed team play the 10th team in Spain, Germany, Italy or Germany and see what happens, then the 15th.

In terms of quality, you have to say that the top clubs in Spain, Germany and possibly Italy are better than the top clubs in England.
But you can't argue that the Premier League is the most competitive and most entertaining top tier league in the world.

Yes I disagree with the OP and agree with this.
It's about the league at the moment not who's developing players. I think the premier is the best and most competitive in Europe but there are a few better teams out there than the best teams here.

It's difficult to judge and won't be judgeable, I enjoy the Prem for many reasons but for me Championship is the best league in the world, why cause Cardiff City play in it
HOWEVER if we're talking teams from Prem playing other teams in comparison, how about ...
Burnley vs Sparta Rotterdam
Hull vs Sporting Gijon
Stoke vs Udinese
Sunderland vs Go Ahead Eagles
List could go on

I think it is becoming less competitive year by year. I would guess most fans would have predicted Man C or Chelsea as champions, with Arsenal, Man U & Tottenham as the chasing pack before a ball was kicked. Getting too predictable, starting to resemble the Scottish Premier. I prefer the championship, more open and less predictable.

No I don't think it is but there's not much in it - I think we have a slightly biased opinion being from the UK. At the moment I'd probably go for the Spanish league or maybe German.

To address a point made earlier, saying that the PL can't be the best league as English sides rarely win the Champions League, well one of the main reasons for that is the English sides have much more competitive games on the weekends than the other teams do. The European giants simply don't have the same weekly worries that the English top clubs do, and that makes a huge difference.

Most if not All European leagues only have around 2 or 3 teams competing for top spot premier usually have 5 or 6 with chance to win it? So think premier better league despite English clubs failing to win euro cups recently
