Cardiff City vs Wales: Why Bluebirds' fans must prioritise crucial Fulham clash ahead of Six Nations

Your club needs you more than your country - my message to Bluebirds supporters

By Nathan Blake

Cardiff City have won three on the trot, looking to make it four by beating Fulham this weekend and talk of a most unlikely push for the play-offs is gathering momentum.

Yet it almost wouldn’t be Cardiff without the odd issue to cloud matters! There are still fears from some fans — rightly or wrongly — that Neil Warnock may be gone at the end of the season because of a lack of transfer funds.

And why does this weekend’s game, Cardiff’s biggest at home for many, many months , clash directly with the Six Nations rugby? How will that affect the attendance at Cardiff City Stadium, with some either travelling to Murrayfield or watching Wales on the TV or in the pub.

Can't see why any true City fan would either travel to Scotland or go to the pub to watch Wales instead of attending CCS

Jack, Yes it goes on and on on how well Warnock has done, most people can't be bothered to read a full page of it, some I put the main point of it out :thumbright:

Proper fans yes, but the ones who are split won't want to watch the highlights they'll want to go on the piss.

Possibly because Scotland vs Wales in the Six Nations is once a year, Edinburgh is a great City, and a weekend on the piss in the Scottish Capital might be more appealing than watching us in a mid table battle with Fulham just this one weekend.

I know a few lads who are off up to Scotland this weekend, Season Ticket holders for years and years, they are as true a fan as anyone I know.

I am sure there are loads of City fans who have missed games to attend other event's over the years be it Rugby, The Racing, Boxing or even other teams.

Not sure why it always has to be a competition with Rugby all the time, its pathetic.

Friend of mine who got a season ticket next to me has tickets for the Scotland v wales game .hes attended almost every game this season.
Can you please tell me why he's not a real Cardiff fan then ? He's given his season ticket to a friend to. Probably watch more games than most commenting on this thread. Some poor posts here

I agree. I am not interested in the rugby myself, but nothing wrong with those who are. You could argue that at least they are supporting mainly local lads who were born in the principality while we support a team full of players from all over the place who have no real links to Wales, never mind Cardiff.

Never ever known such fans that get so bitter and jealous....of another sport ffs!
I for one enjoy both. Yes its CCS for me but the fact we have to choose on here for the anti rugby fans is a joke.
Sometimes I have to choose on a weekend football or golf. So if its sunny and I choose golf that shouldnt be a problem

I like the six nations, it's also pissing down on Saturday, and I have to work in the morning. Adding all those things up, I'll be in my local watching the Egg, looking forward to it. Hoping for wins for City and Wales.

I nearly always watch the rugby when I can but never over The Bloobirds. The other half is out with our friends to watch it down the local and she said to me 'come out with us to watch the rugby'.
My reply 'see you at 6'.

I can understand fans who are going to the game and going up for the weekend, I'd imagine it will be a class weekend but I can't understand the ones who will stay in the pub over going to the city.
