Neil Warnock reveals how he's united Cardiff City: From meetings with players, fans... even the office staff

The Bluebirds boss is flying right now after three wins in a week

Neil Warnock has been on a mission to unite Cardiff City ever since his appointment in October — and his duties go far beyond changing fortunes on the pitch.

The Bluebirds have flown up the table under Warnock, after sitting 23rd when he took over on October 5.

They're now 12th and within 13 points of the play-off places.

But the veteran boss has revealed his job to overhaul the club stretches to meeting supporters and even bringing the office staff together.

He compared Cardiff with former club Sheffield United, where the 68-year-old is revered following an eight-year spell at the helm.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday , Warnock explained how he'd brought the club together.

"We were second from bottom and the club itself needed a bit of an overhaul," he told presenters Ben Shepherd and Chris Kamara.

"What I don't like at clubs is when there's 'that' group and 'that' group, 'that's our department and that's our department' — I like us all to be together really.

"It's taken a few months but we're getting there. Even the fans and the office staff and people like that."

Warnock also revealed the details of his fortnightly meetings with 'core' Cardiff supporters, as the relationship between manager and Bluebirds fans blossoms.

Not for the first time, Warnock sang the praises of the loyal City followers.

"And I'm going out to the valleys every couple of Thursdays to meet the real core of the fans," he added. "The fans are very much like Sheffield United fans, they're all dedicated fans.

"So it's good to put yourself out and the response I've had them them has been fantastic, especially away from home.

"We've filled out our entire sections at Bristol City and our supporters were at Reading, Leeds, even Derby in midweek. They've been fantastic."

I love Warnock. What a legend he is becoming. He reminds me of Frankie Burrows but with a better track record.

Good on him for heading up the A470 to meet the Valley boys every other Thursday too. Does anyone here go to these nights? I'd love to hear your take on what he's like in the pub environment. I can see him drinking John Smiths with a packet of pork scratchings.

We seem to have captured warnock at the perfect time in his career.
He has nothing to prove at a club with tons of potential.
A fan base that has admired him for years and can appreciate what he is doing.
A squad that is responding to him.
If we can hold on to him for 2 seasons and then hand over to Ballamy...it could be exiting times..
