How Warnock Solved the existing problems at Cardiff City

The Bluebirds had the second leakiest defence in the Championship when Warnock took over the club.

They had shipped 19 goals in 11 matches, scoring only eight times to have a goal difference of -11, a tally only worsened by bottom club Rotherham.

But they have bagged 32 goals and conceded only 29 times during Warnock's reign meaning they have a goal difference of +3 under his leadership.

It has largely been down to the manager's ability to not only identify, but to solve Cardiff's problem areas.

Sol Bamba was recruited as a free agent in Warnock's opening week with the club, and the centre-back has proved to be a mainstay at the heart of the defence while Allan McGregor was brought in from Hull to give an assured presence between the sticks.
