This Time Last Season

Fri Feb 17, 2017 12:43 am

We had played the same amount of games and we had just beaten Brighton 4-1 in one of our best results in years.

Looking at the table from last season there was basically nothing in it between the top 4 compared to this season where it just looks like Newcastle and Brighton will just fight for the top spot, but Reading and huddersfield will follow them closely.

At this stage last season we only had 7 points more than what we have this year which really doesn't seem like alot when you consider how bad our first 11 games. we lost 7 games out of 11 under trollope and in just less than double that amount of games Neil Warnock has lost the same amount but has won 10 more. We can only look back and think what could have been if he had been here instead of Trollope, but theres no point now we just have to look to the future with Warnock.

We were on 49 points, one place below and just 4 points short of Sheffield Wednesday a year ago who were sixth on 53 points. The table looks roughly the same this season with Norwich on 51 points and Wednesday on 55 points, the gap is the same. In the end we just didn't have the bottle to get there with Slade in charge, as we drew too many games rather than winning the games like mk dons or rotherham that mattered for picking up points.

Under Warnock we have won 10 drew 4 and lost 7, he wants to win every match and when he knows we have a chance he goes for it and he proved that on Tuesday when he took of a defensive player for a striker, Rhys came on and won us a penalty and with that the game. My point being that with Warnock you know he tells the players that we dont just turn up for games to make up the numbers, we turn up for games to win and give our all. You just know next season with Warnock we will have the bottle to go out and perform, to go and have belief that nothing is beyond us and we will have the courage to go for promotion, whether it be playoffs or automatics Warnock will want it and he will make the players want it even more.

Come on City give us something to look forward too next year, keep Warnock in charge and i'm sure we will have a very enjoyable season to come.
