Relegation battle

Sat Feb 11, 2017 10:17 pm

Will the glass half empty people now admit that a relegation battle is highly unlikely? Or is it in their Dna to think like this until it's mathematically not going to happen? Am not basing this after today's result, but 5 wins from 8 is impressive including two very good wins against Leeds and Preston who aren't bad sides at all.

We might even finish higher than I thought possible, I think with mid table looking likely the foundations can be laid for net season. Next season is going to be interesting, we are on the up again.

I think we are finally Safe, and will end up no lower than where we are after today's result. I hope Warnock is backed next season as I'm really looking forward to it and feel given the resources he is the person to take us back up. :ayatollah:

I am sticking to my prediction from the start of the season and plenty of times since, we will end up somewhere between 12th and 15th. The sooner we get to around 50 points the better. We should get there by the time the March fixtures are complete, hopefully a bit earlier. Good to be looking up the table rather than looking over our shoulders at the teams below us.

Gareth, Ive always said I felt safe under Warnock that we would not go down, but he himself has stated we were in a relegation battle which we have been. Yes we can relax much more thanks to Warnock, but we must never ever be to complacent. Also just imagine where we might have been if Warnock had had a few more players. :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I would say the majority of us believed we would survive since Warnock turned up.

I believed it was going to be close for us but would be ok. Slightly changed now as I believe we will now soon have plenty of space to breath. So much so that soon I think we might be able to experiment a bit more for next season.

Agree with you Ian, Thanks to Warnock by April we will be out of it and he can then experiment for next season :thumbright: :bluebird:

Comfortable survival now, After the truly awful Trollope period, Neil Warnock has got the team playing for the shirt and as a team. Burton, wigan and Rotherham will go down

I'll still continue to look at the results involving the teams below us rather than the teams above us but ye I think we're safe. When Warnock says we're only a few quality signings off competing for the top end of the league I believe him, if we can consistently perform like we did yesterday with a added bit of spark and quality we'll be a match for anyone next season. All boils down to what we can afford though, I'm sure Warnock will be able to bring in some shrewd signings without splashing the cash.
