' Cardiff Ticket sales for Leeds Away '

For many years Leeds United v Cardiff City had become either No fans at all, even a bubble match,to restrictions and put as a midweek game on two occasions making it hard for Cardiff fans to travel.

After No arrests or trouble between Cardiff and Leeds fans in the last seven years and each year less Cardiff City fans travelling to Elland with last season only 187 fans travelling.

The Authorities of both Clubs met up and it was agreed there would be No restrictions at all for Cardiff City fans and it was made a 3pm Kick off on a Saturday(today) with Cardiff able to have an allocation of up to 4,000 tickets.

Cardiff City have sold 430 tickets including 50 comps for todays away game at Elland Road :bluebird: :bluebird:

The actual sale of tickets is 380 to Cardiff City.

Sing your hearts out Bluebirds :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Crowd expected to be over 33,000 at Elland Road.

Not too sure what Annis thinks but personally I applaud every Cardiff City fan who travels up to support the team at a club/stadium that has taken the proverbial Michael out of our supporters over many seasons! ;)

At £37 a ticket, I hope they are treated with some respect and hope the (City) team rewards them for their telling efforts! :ayatollah:

You've asked, I will give my honest opinion, I will prob be shot down for it.

The actual sale of tickets is 380 to Cardiff City, for me this is disappointing.

Price yes is out of order, but other clubs have paid it at Wed,Norwich,Ipswich,QPR have charged £40.
We paid in Jan in the Prem 4 away games and we sold out three of them away two of them at £50 & £55.
There was No restrictions,Not on tv,massive club to visit,police/stewards treated us well on last two visits, it is 3pm on a Sat and we have Warnock as manager.
Wicked atmosphere.
Not many of our fans have ever been so,they caught say they are bored.

It took Carl and his daughter in the car from the other side of Swansea 3hrs and 20mins

It is very disappointing Annis.

However we should not be surprised. Treatment by their stewards in pass seasons, plus the restrictions although not today and finally £37 are some of the seasons we are not surprised.

Some will say people will think of any excuse not to go. Well my word to that type is they make it easy for us to have an excuse.

Ian, my last two visits the Leeds stewards were really welcoming :thumbright: :bluebird:

For me we have lost our once great away support and thats the truth.

Yes my last 2 were but I'm going on other testimonies.

You and I know what has happened to the away support but when we go down that track well look at the backlash we get.

As said many times the cost is the overriding factor for many or don't you think around £80 to 100+ for one person Inc of travel food ticket is to much to pay?

We have not taken hardly any fans away to Leeds since 1984,so fans were not borred of going there. I disagree this was a big game and we were not out of relegation and will still have to win more games.

Funny how it now means so much to everyone now we have won :bluebird: :bluebird:

Credit to the loyal fans who travelled and we there to see a fantastic win, well chuffed for them all :bluebird: :bluebird: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Annis, as you know, I passionately defend our fans, crowds and followings at every opportunity but I have to say that this was an absolutely shocking turnout.

Whilst I appreciate that watching Football is expensive I do have to point out that the cost of going does get seriously increased by people at times.

Most of our games cost around £25-£30 a ticket and you can get a coach to most of them for around £25 so that's anywhere between £50/£60, if you are in a position to go by car with friends then that becomes even cheaper as you can knock another £15 off so your talking maybe between £35/£45.

You don't need to spend another penny, when I was a kid and my father used to take us we had a packed lunch for the way and a packed lunch for the way back which probably cost a couple of quid at most.

If you go on the piss then yeah it gets expensive but that's a choice and not the cost of the Football so you can't really say its costs £100+ cos it doesn't.

I agree and even you a few weeks ago thought we would take 1,000 fans there, even I thought at worst 800.

I argue on here with other City fans because most won't admit our away support has got worse over the years and is way below other clubs, but to the opposition fans I argue why we have lost our support big time :thumbright: :occasion5:

Carl paid £37 to get in and they all paid a £12 each in petrol.
in the Premier League, our fans were spending £100 at away games and we sold out everywhere.

Leeds was prob our most expensive away game, but most City fans had never been there.
I honestly don't believe we have lost our away support through money, its through the Rebrand and the Authorities etc Many of Our diehards lost their feel and passion for our club.

We've definitely lost a legion of away type supporters. Plenty due to the rebrand no doubt They just don't really go anymore do they? It's surely common knowledge that lots of our away support were also made up of lads from all over meeting up to have a laugh. That type of laugh will more than likely see you end up in jail these days so it's not difficult to see why our away support has dropped off so much. Too much to lose, got kids and responsibilities.....times have changed folks.

Great post. That's the exact reason why I don't go anymore..however, I love the home games and make more of an effort with them, which I'm happier with as the club benefit financially.
