If a Liverpool fan was holding a banner up about Munich or a united fan holding a banner about hillsborough, no doubt they would be identified and dealt with. When they're just singing about it, it's far easier to get away with.

Agree. Pot, kettle and black from one or two over this occurrence
Not condoning for one moment but it's worth an ask "What would they have done about chants of Istanbul from a large number of people?"

I know that Wez, I'm pretty sure that the Leeds fans/lads just let it go over their heads these days in the main.
Football has always been used as a vehicle to air sick chant's etc, mainly by kids or those who know no better, I have done it myself in the past when I was younger, I would be an absolute hypocrite to pretend I haven''t. What I would say though is that at 59 years of age that Huddersfield fan could do with giving his head a good wobble, preferably with a few of the Leed's lads hands around his neck

i see a difference in being at a game, getting carried away and singing stuff you shouldnt. and going out in advance to buy a turkish flag .
personally i found fans chanting Aberfan at us in the 70s really offensive, although i knew it was to get the reaction. the penny dropped for me then.
