Worked under difficult circumstances at the club - steadied the ship and had to deal with a transfer embargo, so to finish 11th and 8th is not a bad return.

Personally I don't think people give him enough credit for what he did here. It's a shame the board decided to apping Trollope after Slade as opposed to Warnock because with the solid foundations Slade had built and then the experience and no how of Warnock I am sure we would have been in the top half of the table competing for a playoff place.

Good luck to him and hope he wins the cup

i fail to see the steadied the ship thing. we had lost 3 games to teams that ended the season on 78 points or more.
everyone thought OGS was under achieving.? yet Slade comes in nods his head lots.lies constantly finishes 11th and that translates to nice bloke, underated, steadied the ship. had OGS stayed we would have finished top half and everyone would have slaughtered him.

OGS had to go his constant tinkering did my head in and chucked money down the river and one of the reasons why we are where are now as he finished off Tan's trust in managers.

did my head in too, but we were not going down wasnt like we were losing to relegation foder.
during his short stay our transfer dealings were in the plus column. and wages went down.
glad he went.but we should then have appointed a manager not waited 2 years

We should've appointed a manager after Malky full stop.

i'll be rooting for slade, think he came in as a scapegoat, someone we could focus our dislike for, while the club gets rid of our players we'd all be blaming him. he did a good job under difficult circumstances, and maybe we were a division to high for him, but I don't blame him for taking the job

as for OGS, god, surely its a toss up between him and Trollope for our worst manager. I remember the opening day of the championship season with Ole, and he spoke about how his training is real game simulation and different scenarios....on the opening day he had the "left back, left winger, do a one two, cross the ball into the box for the striker to score. there was no one defending, I remembered saying, when will we have our full back and winger cross the ball into an empty box. the guy was f*cking clueless.

OGS wouldnt have been my choice. but there were enough highly respected pple in football that thought it a good appointment. it didnt turn out well as things in football often dont. But appointing Slade came with a gaurantee of nothingness. As a fan i want a manager who strives to finish as high as he can , squeeze every ounce out of each player and be honest with both owners and fans. Slade did none of those.
