' We have come along way under Neil Warnock '

Neil Warnock

The 68-year-old admitted it was going to get 'frustrating' in the next three months. He clearly wants to push the boundaries of what's possible at Cardiff but knows it can't be done without investment.

"I think three Championship clubs paid £12million for players (in the January transfer window)," he said. "So it shows what the level is.

"We're just not clinical enough and I think we all know that, don't we really?

"It's going to be frustrating coming in these press conferences for the next how many games... but once again we've shown we can compete with (teams) paying £7million for players.

That's an argument for another day. Cardiff should — and will — avoid relegation without suffering a scratch this season. That much is virtually guaranteed already.

It's thanks to Warnock's pragmatic approach that the Bluebirds have the confidence to look up instead of down. But patience is a virtue in football and Cardiff should be happy with their lot. For now.

Totally agree. I think Warnock is getting the absolute maximum from his squad and I haven't had any real cause to criticize his formation, subs or tactics. Personally I would have kept Whitts on on Saturday, as we are always a threat from his set pieces, but when you see that Norwich have got £8m players on their bench I think we are doing the best we can. With just a little bit of money in the summer I would expect us to be play off contenders next season. If we don't keep hold of Warnock I think that would be disastrous and a hammer blow to morale.
