A forum for all things Cardiff City

Hello, I am an Ipswich fan with a huge soft spot for Cardiff thanks to my welsh mum and dad. I have been coming on this web site for several years as whilst I have an interest in your club it's also good to see the views and opinions of fans from a club in the same league. Anyway enough waffle, Emyr had a cracking debut for us yesterday. Played central midfield and for a guy who hasn't played much put in a great shift. He moves well and has a great pass on him and loves to get forward. He set up Lawrence for his first and I know it's early days but I have high hopes for him. Added to that a mate saw him after tha game and said he was a top lad. Bizarre it never worked out for him with you but obviously if he does well for us then you possibly have a great player back with you for next season. Anyway good luck lads.

Glad his debut went well.
He was injured and then not really had a chance here. I think he could be a good player for you. I would have liked him to get a run of games with the Bluebirds. Our club tend to let younger players go too soon. Most fans a lot of us brand a player after two or three games (Eg Zohore)! They don't consider age and potential. On the other hand we purchase others miles past their best (e.g.Lambert!).
Most importantly with Huws he showed a good attitude (contrary to what some say on here). i.e. I was impressed by what Warnock said about him chipping into his own wages in order to get games.Let's hope he proves his quality with you. And works hard on the pitch his style of
play can appear "lazy" hope he comes back next year! Talking of players appearing "lazy" - Whittingham is not getting any younger so Id love to see Huws back next year. Iam sure we can use him and it could be like a new signing.
In the meantime here's hoping Cardiff and Ipswich are still in this league next season!
BLUEBIRDS!!

I am not sure he can kick it high and far enough for Warnock

We are not going to play a possession based control game under Warnock, but a direct high tempo game. That doesn't suit Emyr or Whitts.

Exactly. He would need a bit of coaching from Ben Turner to play for us at the moment.

Morrison is a fine exponent of the "boot it anywhere provided it's long and hard" style of play associated with Turner.

I'd like to think that Emyr will come back next season rejuvenated- even with Trolls in charge to me he looked lethargic, when given the opportunity, he's failed really to make any impression.
I still think he's got a big future with us especially if his form picks up while on loan.

He looked a good player when he on loan at Huddersfield so was expecting him to be good hopefully his loan can rejuvenate him .

Dont know why he was allowed to leave if we were allowing O Keefe to go out on loan.
Getting rid of Immers, Huws and O Keefe in this window has left us short of options in central midfield should we get injuries / supsensions.
Also loaning him to a rival it remains to be seen if it was a poor call or not.

I agree polo but in his few matches he's shown no desire at all, and if he's not getting game time a loan move could be perfect. Anybody who wants huws to have a Stinker is wrong, he's our player and the best outcome is that he is outstanding for Ipswich. It might looks like a mistake but is it? Because of comes back fit and in form it will go two ways, we sell and make money or we have a decent player on our hands.
For those who say he doesn't fit, clearly not watched mick mc carthy teams over the years. I was excited by Lawrence and huws coming to us, but it seems for some reason they like playing for Ipswich.
Win win situation.

NO. Polo is correct here. we need 3 teams to finish on less points than us and its by no means a certainty. Ipswich were below us and in p@@s poor form .
