Cardiff City stalwart set to miss chunk of season

Full-back Lee Peliter is to require an operation which could see him miss the remainder of the season, but only when the Bluebirds are safe from relegation.
Neil Warnock says the 30 year-old full-back needs an operation on his ankle which could see him miss up to three months of action, but Warnock says "we are low on numbers,so i need every player we have until we are safe"
However, the Bluebirds’ boss has urged the defender to put up with the pain until Cardiff are safe from the drop.
Warnock suggested Peltier might play through pain as he needs an operation, but yesterday he ushered Matt Connolly back into the side at right back, with youngster Mark Harris named among the substitutes.
It looks like Peltier might have to have the operation sooner than later.
Warnock is desperate to keep playing the full-back, and is a huge fan of him. Earlier in the season, Warnock described the defender as being one of the ‘best’ in the Championship, and if he was to have £10 million at his disposal, he probably wouldn’t find a better full-back.
However, Cardiff will eventually have to do without their reliable full-back, speaking on Friday, Neil Warnock revealed: “Peltier will have to have an operation on his ankle at some stage.
“I said to him he can have it as soon as we get safe because he will be out for two or three months. He has floating bones in the ankle so it needs a wash-out as soon as possible – but we can’t afford him to have it yet so he will carry on unless it gets too bad.”
Peltier has been a key part of the squad so far this season, and has made a total of 26 appearances in the Championship, making the full-back spot his own.
The experienced full-back has made a total of 82 appearances for the Bluebirds since joining from Championship rivals Huddersfield during the 2015 January transfer window
However, for him to continue at full strength, Warnock must eventually do without Peltier this term.

Is it not Utter bonkers for Warnock to urge Peltier to play through the pain barrier with the distinct possibility of making the injury worse and lengthening his time out of the game

Giving a direct rival "one extra" whilst leaving us short in midfield.

He got backed for defensive cover in January he brought in Greg Halford who can play right back, so can Matt Conolly and so can Jazz Richards. Bennet is back soon to play left back and John could play left back if we decided to use Richards as RB.
We have more than enough defensive cover for Peltier.

Look at the clubs like Forest, Villa throwing the cheque book out at it in what? To missed out on play offs with 2 games to spare probably.
JANUARY WINDOW IS INFLATED AND NOT WORTH IT.
He got backed to bring in 4 players in a non transfer window period, he can obviously be trusted and backed. But some will choose to ignore that to have a dig at the board just because we lost 1-0 v Norwich on the weekend.

To be fair it was Brighton, Reading and Norwich we lost to in the space of 11 days. Having said that. it is difficult to spend money that you have'nt got unless we want to start running up even bigger debts than we already have. let's hope we already have enough here to keep us up this season.
