It was a risky appointment and it looks like it is not going to work.

Said as soon as we signed him we would not see more than 10 goals a season from him, and that he would be almost certain to be out through injury from time to time. Not rocket science, you suffer injuries a lot easier the older you get, and when you are injured it takes a lot longer to recover. Not an intelligent buy as far as I am concerned.

Ian, Don't the CCFC transfer committee ever learn from their awful, costly mistakes.

They sign Lambert on a two year contract at £25,000 a week, plus massive signing on fee.An option on a 3rd year.

Yet Lambert was injury prone and virtually not played football for nearly 3 years, Total madness.

Surely the pro committee fans must be honest now.

Makes you wonder if they were just signing a "name" for the sake of it. Complete waste of money, and I never understood the excitement from some fans when he was signed. May as well tried to have signed Toshack again.

Steve, The problem is the Tan fans are easily pleased by him, Tan knows nothing about football and has made a laughing stock of our club.

He should back the right manager Neil Warnock, yet he backed the clueless managers as they were his yes men.

what makes this worse is the club knew this was the case and still decided not to go ahead with matt taylor for 300k which is just shocking

I was also one that thought this was a bad signing from the off and couldn't believe when the forum went into meltdown when we signed him!
Look at Peter Crouch at age 36 though, still scoring in the Premiership. I'm sure we wouldn't have been able to sign him instead due to the costs but what a job he could have done for us.

Just another chance to have to stick a foot into the club again, shocker.

You could swear Warnock has been here for 3 seasons the way people go on about him being backed.

He got 4 players in when in a period where it wasn't a transfer window, yes he didn't get the financial backing in the window just gone but if any of you actually know transfer window you know how silly the January one gets.

Yes we backed the other managers and they took advantage of the board and the money and now people like Trollope and Warnock have to suffer for what people like Malky and Ole done to this club.

He has only been with us in one window for crying out loud, you are all making out to sound worse than what it is.

Get behind the club.

That's the way I feel too - get behind the club, the thinly-disguised digs at Tan are daft.

And before anyone says anything I was there at Anfield singing my heart out.

FACT. I'll say it once more ( as don't want to be re banned) :D He was NEVER coming here.

agree money to spend in the summer will be nice but lets have people stop dragging up the same players names just for the hell of it or a stick to beat Mr Tan with.

I can only see him making the odd sub appearance until the end of the season he is turning out to be a waste of money.

Jules, I have agreed with you, but you have to agree what a waste of money Amos,Lambert, Huws etc. And does feel like the Transfer committee never learn.
We now have a manager who deserves to be backed :thumbright: :bluebird:

I think Huws will come good once he's got a bit of confidence back

I hope your right but I fear Warnock has well and truly made up his mind on Huws. Warnock's taking a gamble in my opinion, there's no doubt Huws has the talent and it will be a pretty poor outcome if he goes onto shine elsewhere having not really had a chance here. I'm not convinced that Huws or for that matter Kennedy and O'keefe have nothing to offer at this level. I do however have faith that Warnock will do the right thing.

As for Lambert its a rather convenient injury that relieves or delays the criticism our transfer committee deserve over this. Not because of the way he's performed on the field but the dreadful contract negotiation from our side. If he recovers from the back injury, what next ? Stubbed toe or maybe a broken finger nail. The best chance that anything useful would come from Lambert was this year. Clearly we not looking to extend his contract and so that's it, another 3 appearances and his season is over.
