Neil Warnock on Kenneth Zohore
NEIL WARNOCK:
'We'd be raving about it for weeks!'
"It was a great goal. We can’t get carried away with him because he’s not played many games, but he’s doing what we want and we’re working really hard with him on the training ground, we’re explaining things on the videos and taking it on board….it took me a couple of weeks to realise when he says yes and nods his head he doesn’t understand a word I say, but we’re getting in the nitty gritty with him and we’re seeing the improvement."
"That goal, if it was in the Premier League they’d be raving about it for weeks, he was 20 yards inside his own half and against a good goalkeeper it was a finish that was sublime when he must have been breathing through his backside."

Neil Warnock has revealed why Cardiff City didn't spend on deadline day, days after admitting his disappointment at missing key transfer targets.
03/02/17
The Bluebirds were linked with Liam Feeney, Jonny Hayes and Matty Taylor on the last day of the transfer window.
But they didn't succeed in acquiring any of those targets. Only Greg Halford and Allan McGregor — earlier in the window — joined the Warnock revolution at Cardiff City Stadium.
And the manager revealed that a combination of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations and a hectic fixture schedule conspired against Cardiff.
"If we hadn't had a game on the night, we would have got a target in," said Warnock, who was frustrated that some Championship clubs had a free evening on Tuesday January 31 while his side faced a crucial clash with Preston North End.
Ross McCormack signed on loan for Nottingham Forest and Leeds United signed Modou Barrow in a couple of the more eye-catching Championship deadline day deals.
"We just couldn't get it done with the clearance and complications but if we'd been working at it from 4pm or 5pm we would have got it done, " Warnock added.
"It was unfair some (clubs) played the next day. In that afternoon, in an hour and a half and 40 calls, they don't understand what goes on. The people who do the fixtures should sit with us on deadline day to see what goes on."
Warnock also revealed Cardiff were close to securing a target, with the former QPR and Sheffield United boss keen to add invention and pace to his attacking line.
Although he did admit he was happy to wait until the summer to invest in his squad, after targeting a promotion push next season.
"Even at the death there was one we could have had, but the international clearance with the FAW makes it more complicated," he added.
"I always said I didn't want to spend silly money and I don't think we've spent a penny in the end. I think everyone behind the scenes will be happy — I imagine Vincent will be!
"But we're in a situation with FFP that we have to make sure we're right for the summer. The club have got commitments to players long since gone which is not helping the cause."

Was Warnock disappointed nobody was signed on Deadline Day?
Here are those quotes in full...
"Yes, if we hadn’t had a game on the night we would have got a target in. We just couldn’t get it done with the clearance and complications, but if working at it from 4 or 5 we would have got it done. It was unfair some played the next day. In that afternoon, in an hour and half 40 calls, they don’t understand what goes on, the people who do the fixtures should sit with us on deadline day to see what goes on."

I always sad I didn’t want to spend silly money and I don’t think we’ve spent a penny in the end. I think everyone behind the scenes will be happy - I imagine Vincent will be!"

" BRUNO MANGA BACK IN 5-6 WEEKS "
Lee Peltier needs an operation that will mean he's out for two or three months, but it's being delayed until we are safe from the drop.
Neil Warnock:
Warnock on Peltier and injuries
"He’s been one of my best. We have one of the best back fives, Connolly is reliable, Jazz doing well. Bruno Manga may only be five to six weeks so he could help us in the run-in."
"Peltier will have to have an operation at some stage. I said to him as soon as we get safe he can have it because he will be out for two or three months, he has floating bones so it needs to be washed out but we can’t afford to have it yet."

NEIL WARNOCK: "Peter Whittingham offered new contract"
"We’ve made him an offer, it’s on the table, it’s down to them. I spoke to his agents this morning but I think we have to leave it to Peter now. You negotiate to and fro but the offer is there and it will stay there."
"I told him I’m not in a rush, I won’t withdraw it, if they want to consider it it’s alright with me because we want to respect Peter."

Rickie Lambert struggling
Neil Warnock:
"He’s not training yet, he started some gym work, it’s his back, but there’s nothing he can do, it’s wear and tear as we get older."

LATEST ON ' EMYR HUWS & MATTY KENNEDY '
NEIL WARNOCK:
" Emyr Huws has not had a look in, he’s a lovely lad, it shows how much he wanted to play because he’s paying some of own wages, it’s unheard of for me, so it shows how much he wanted."
" Matty Kennedy I wanted to see him play, rather than 20 minutes here and there, so Plymouth are sending me a DVD of every game, I will keep an eye on him and I think he will set the league alight. He came back into side strong but ended game. O’Keefe doesn’t really figure in my plans in the future, a bit like Huws."

Anthony Pilkigton & Joe Bennett out injured

" DECLAN JOHN "
Warnock explains why Declan John didn’t leave...
"Numbers wise we’ve been down the bare minimum, Declan comes into the reckoning. Bennett is still injured like Pilks - they’re doing light running."
"Pilkington did a bit more and we’ll have a look to see if he has a chance on the bench but Bennett is a week away. Declan may have to cover a couple of roles, covering further forward which may suit him."

Warnock 'always liked' Jazz Richards
Neil Warnock:
"I always liked him, I felt sorry for the lad I don’t think he should have been out that length of time and we looked into it. But he’s getting fitter and sharper, I trust him. First couple of games he perhaps didn’t know what I wanted for him, but he was super on Tuesday and there’s a big chance for him. They paid £7m for him - I was thinking of offering £1.5m so it shows the money in this division."
"Jazz is reliable if he’s fit, you can give him a job anywhere, once he’s 100% he’s fine - because he’ll pick up injuries if he’s not. It’s great for Chris Coleman because with games he can use him."

What will Norwich bring?
Neil Warnock:
"The squad on paper is bottom half of the Premier League when you look at the names - I’ve tried to sign Jerome six times in my career - they have good players but it’s a great test, I’m glad we’re playing them as they’re a side that should be going up or close."
"It’s great to pit our wits. These next three games we shouldn’t get a point but I’d be disappointed if we don’t get three!"

' EMYR HUWS PAYS PART OF HIS OWN WAGES TO GO TO IPSWICH '
Ipswich and Cardiff appear to have disagreed over what percentage of Emyr Huws’ wages, each club should pay during his time at Portman Road and it appears the player was willing to make up the difference.
Warnock said: “(Huws has) not had a look in, he’s a lovely lad, and it shows how much he wanted to play because he’s paying some of own wages. It’s unheard of for me, so it shows how much he wanted to go there.
“There aren’t many lads like Emyr. He came to see me and said he’d take a drop in wages to play. How many people say that? Everybody just wants to stay put normally. He wanted to go. I was going to do a swap and unfortunately the player I wanted to swap was injured.

The club has got commitments to players long since gone?....That's a worry, and a financial burden by the sounds of it!
