Phone repair help

Anyone on here savvy with phone repairs?

I've replaced the battery in my sony xperia z3 compact and when I switch it on the phone vibrates once but nothing happens on the screen. When it's plugged in the charging light shows that its charging but 0 activity on the screen. Also when I press the camera button on the side the flash goes so there's definitely power but I'm thinking I may have damaged the digitaliser or motherboard. I've also tried a hard restart, which vibrated three times, but again nothing on the screen.

might have to take it to a shop but if anyone's got any advice on what to try or had similar issues then it would be much appreciated?

Cheers

Jack, I am rubbish.

But if you live near ALBANY RD I can highly recommend a private man who repairs phones in his shop, honest and cheap :thumbright: :bluebird:

Presumably you've asked a fone repair centre what could be problem ? Could get cist of repair so can decide if worth repair! but if insured could always drop something on it ?? :laughing6:

Sometimes only solution but shame no private repair shop near you as I find they are great at doing this sort of thing, used couple in Carmarthen on occasions far cheaper than replacement fone

I bought a cheap battery for my iphone 6 and replaced the knackered one in it. The cheap one is no better than the knackered one so I would always buy official merchandise from now on!

I think you have damaged something or possibly you may have not connected a wire back properly. You may have to run the gauntlet of a phone shop but I dont think it will come cheap unless you are very lucky. Maybe worth having another look to make sure you put it back together properly.

Nowadays you dont just swap a battery with a click in and click out! These things are not built to last!

Yeah double checked it all mate. Gone through insurance now, the excess is cheaper than what it would cost for me to have someone look at it.

Yup literally had to take the whole thing apart.
