Does anyone else consider Hereford games a derby

Wed Feb 01, 2017 6:05 pm

Work with a lad from Hereford and he considers the old Hereford v Cardiff games as derby games. Anyone else consider our old matches with Hereford as derby games? :bluescarf:

Loved everyone of them games with Hereford, but we never thought they were our rivals, just loved popping up the road or going on the train there and at every station hundreds of Cardiff would get on :thumbright: :thumbright: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

i think it takes a bit more than location for it to be a derby. like Annis i loved going there never considered it a derby. ive never considered games againt Newport as derbys either we just dont have enough shared history with either club.

Not derby games, but I sort of know what he means. They were great occasions. Really hope that Hereford United will be back in the Football League before too long.

Depends where your from I suppose, a lot of our support that comes from the Valleys and Towns North or East of Cardiff probably consider it more a Derby feel due to how close it is, especialy the heads of the Valleys as opposed to Cardiff folk themselves or those from the West.

That's a pretty good summary of our fan base! It's what makes us unique in South Wales, and it's where our greatest strength lies :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluebird:
