From that list we have a very small squad now !
When you take Freddy lambert and Amos which are getting no where near the first team we really are short of numbers
Tue Jan 31, 2017 10:49 pm
Have we only got 2 keeper's now ???

Warnock 100% wants to be here as long as he is fully backed by Tan

With a few injuries the match day squad would pick itself with the size of our squad now ...and we may have to play a goalkeeper as an outfield sub at some stage... or a few more youngsters may have to be blooded when we are mathematically safe.

The last four transfer windows have seen very little in the way of quality players coming in - it's mostly been average players or worse, most of whom are grossly overpaid.
Warnock has surely done enough already to be backed by Tan for next season.
I still feel however that Tan has no interest in the club or ambition other than staying in the Championship. My own feeling is that Warnock will walk this summer and Tan will be looking for another arse licker like Slade or Trollope who wouldn't have the bollocks to stand up to him.
We shall wait and see.

Some say on here good business, most of the players out were exccept Marshall & Fabio ,but we need to sign some quality players.
The only real good business was getting in Warnock and David Now 100% Warnock has to be backed this Summer no matter what

Not having a go at you but what makes you really think that Tan will back Warnock? Has there been any suggestion or anything Tan has said or done that leads you to believe that he will?
I suppose the answer is we just don't know.

The squad needed trimming quality not quantity is needed in the summer

I do know this David, they have discussed it and it was quite positive, but Tan never gave 100% reasurances he will, so we will have to wait see and hope he does, other wise Warnock will walk.

Say its £50,000 a week
17 weeks until the end of May
£50,000 per week
= £850,000 savings.

Yes that's right - McGregor and Murphy.
Amos is still here but I'm not sure he counts!

It's my first Jan transfer window with City, and it was a little underwhelming to say the least.
All is not lost though Warnock likes a free and there are still some decent players off the books about.

It's all very well we will save this money - BUT What has happened to the players we let go without a fee ???
Is this good management by the Board - Seems like actions of a closing down British Home Stores OR the work of RSBC

To be honest with us sailing so close to FFP i thing these players had to go to balance the books with Bamba, Hoilett and Mcgreggors wages gonna be quite high, as well as chamack and Richardsons wages when they were here.
We don't know if Tan will spend in the summer but equally, no one has said he wont!
We'll have to wait and see.

What about that lad we signed recently? Forward wasn't he? Or is he not classed as a first team player?

From Harrow Borough, virtually like a trainee at the moment.

No we have three.
That list is incorrect if it's supposed to be current as Halford is not on there either.

I'm not disappointed we haven't signed anyone, although I may regret that if we end up within 6 points of the play offs. Realistically we're not going up or down, short of a miracle.
What we need for the remainder of the season is to determine, who needs to be part of our short term future and just as important be clear that we're not releasing players who could be part of that.
I'm slightly disappointed letting O'Keefe, Huws and Kennedy go as I'm not convinced they have nothing to offer at this level. Getting game time for the 3 is important though and they've not had much of that recently.
We not in the position to spend big although are making a habit of getting fleeced. End of last season most would have gladly seen the back of Gunnersson and he was no great shakes under Trollope. What would it cost to replace him now ? He could have easily been sold.
Clearly Marshall had to go we needed the capital but realistically we were unlikely to receive any payment beyond the initial fee with Hull always likely to go down. So we got a meagre fee and up replacing him with Amos and MacGregor. Doubt that's saved much in wages and if they both went in goal at the same time they'd be about as good as Marshall.
