To be honest I disagree.
As a season ticket holder for coming upto 17 years, most football fans simply want the club to show some ambition, i also question massively how it communicates to the fans too.You have to remember, Its upto the club to entice the fans into the club, to spend money and buy tickets. Knowing the stadium is half full, why don't they give tickets to schools? the future of the fans is not us, its the kids.
The club has gone through some really good things since Warnock has been here and long may it continue, but as truthful he is during interviews, seeing his disappointment on the January transfer window, tells me he feels the same.
I follow Everton, have done for 30 years, when Koeman took the job, the chairman and owner came out and gave the fans a huge insight on how they want the club to be run, and also how they will get there.
I appreciate the club size, history, league revenues are totally different, but its the way they communicate to its fans to keep the ambition and future ideas to its fans, its about keeping them interested. It also makes players aware of what EFC is all about and even that will attract players who at some stage would not have dreamed about going to Everton.
With CCFC, we get told nothing, Tan has not been to a game i what 2 years? Why don't Choo or Dalman tell the fans what its plans are? are we backing Warnock in the summer or will he move on?? Do we want another crack at promotion? simple things like this will make fans want to commit and renew or even take out a new season ticket.
Does anyone remember the old Junior Bluebird vouchers in the Echo? it worked a treat but I don't see anything like this anymore, surely the Marketing team @ CCFC can come up with small ideas to entice fans back?
Yes fans are fickle, yes fans thrive on glory, every club has plastic fans who only like the good times, Christ I've been ballboy, steward and a season ticket holder for 16 years, I've been a fan for over 30 years, I've seen some dreadful times for the club and will never forget that black Friday.
All I ask is for transparency and honesty from the club to its fans, I think only then will we see fans return.
