Aberdeen have kicked out the latest bid from Cardiff City for winger Jonny Hayes.

Monday 30th Jan 2017

The Welsh club have had two previous offers worth £500,000 turned down. And a third offer for the Republic of Ireland international worth just over £600,000 has now gone the same way.

With 18 months to run on the winger's contract Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has repeatedly warned the Championship club they won't land the 29-year-old on the cheap.

Pittodrie sources insist they never put a price on the head of Hayes, but were willing to allow Hayes to speak to Cardiff in the event of a 'serious' offer. The payment structure of the third offer also contributed to the latest rebuffal.
It remains to be seen if Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock will return with a final offer before Tuesday's deadline after also missing out on a move for Blackburn Rovers winger Liam Feeney.

McInnes now hopes to retain Hayes until the summer, however, as the Dons seek to pip Rangers for second in the SPFL Premiership and launch a Scottish Cup bid.

Obviously they have.

Is this an official rejection?

MailOnline have put this article out, so I couldn't tell you if it's official or not.

I'm pretty sure if he came to us we'd at least triple his wages. He knows we want him, and I bet he'll do his best to persuade Aberdeen to let him go. It's the way things are done nowadays. You can bet his agent is pestering Aberdeen management too.

My gut feeling is we'll get him in tomorrow. Probably by restructuring the payment method.

I read that as there's not been a serious offer...yet.
With his agent pestering the management and the lure of the extra wages plus the fact he could walk for nowt next year I'm confident we'll get him.

Think its going to go to the wire, with a 750k fee structure of 600k up front and 150 with appearances and goals etc.
