Aberdeen have slapped a £1million price-tag on winger Jonny Hayes.
Cardiff City have launched a third bid for the Republic of Ireland international, raising the package on offer to £750,000.
Neil Warnock still hopes to land Hayes before Tuesday night's deadline despite failing with two previous bids worth £500,000.

With 18 months to run on his contract, however, the Dons have warned the Championship club they won't land the 30-year-old on the cheap.
Seeking seven figures, the Pittodrie club also want Cardiff to pay the cash up front.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes wants to retain Hayes until the summer as the Dons seek to pip Rangers for second in the SPFL Premiership and launch a Scottish Cup bid.

Should be more fun than Flog it this.

£750k plus Kennedy should do it
Mon Jan 30, 2017 12:16 pm
I can see this being the only other player Warnock wants in this window now & it won't go away. I think it might drag on until the last minutes tomorrow but hopefully it will be a positive ending.
I'd be happy if this guy comes in as he looks the pacey, direct winger we're missing.

Not sure he's worth that.

We bought him for that so that's what we should value him at! No more giveaways

£1,000,000 for a 30 year old SPL player? I'd rather we looked elsewhere.

Sorry fella misread your point!
I think £750 is fine with Kennedy as I don't see Kennedy being a long term part of NW plans that's all.

Paying 9m for an unknown striker was stupid so 1m
for a British player is not over kill.
Especially by looking at him he puts a shift in when playing!

ABERDEEN RECEIVE THIRD CARDIFF CITY BID FOR MAESTRO JONNY HAYES
Evening Express
30/01/17
Aberdeen were today fighting to retain Jonny Hayes after Cardiff City tabled a third bid for the star winger.
The offer from the Championship club is understood to be for £600,000 in the move to land Hayes before the transfer window closes tomorrow.
Aberdeen have already rejected two bids of £500,000, each structured differently, for the Republic of Ireland international.
Hayes has 18 months left on his Dons contract and boss Derek McInnes is desperate to keep the 29-year-old at Pittodrie.
McInnes warned Cardiff they would not land Hayes on the cheap and insisted they had to “get serious” with any offer for the winger when knocking back the second bid of £500,000 earlier this month.
Cardiff boss Neil Warnock had a bid for Blackburn Rovers winger Liam Feeney, 30, rejected at the weekend and has refocused his attention on trying to secure Hayes before the window closes.
Boss McInnes aims to retain Hayes while also adding to his squad in the window with Preston North End striker Stevie May a target for a loan deal until the end of the season.
Both clubs have held talks and if May is sent on loan it is understood his preference would be to link up with former boss McInnes again.
McInnes handed May his debut as a 16-year-old while manager at St Johnstone.
Winger Hayes pitched in with an assist for Niall McGinn’s second goal in the 3-0 win over Dundee on Friday.
He was substituted late in the game to a standing ovation from the Red Army.
Boss McInnes hopes that will not be Hayes’ Dons swansong. The salary available in the Championship far exceeds what the Reds can offer.
Aberdeen today refused to comment on the fresh bid from the Bluebirds.

From the little I've seen of him, I can't question his work-rate. I'm not knocking the bloke but our transfer funds have been tight for a while now, £1 mil seems a bit of gamble.
Mon Jan 30, 2017 1:22 pm
If we pay 1mill then I think Tan is backing Warnock.

We still need a striker desperately.....I'd love to see Hayes playing for us, but we have to get one, on loan if necessary. A certain ex-Bluebird with Palace?
Mon Jan 30, 2017 1:43 pm
This all depends on Hayes, the pay will be better but it's the chance to play in a great league!

100% Agree, No more wasting money, spend on better players than him

Far too expensive. I wouldn't mind us having a look at Walker from Hearts if we need a winger, he's not bad at all.

your writing him off lads this guy is a good player, the more i see of him the better he looks,800k and hes basically ours, think u may see him at the match tomorrow

I agree as I said before, this guy's got more go in him than most of what we've got.

Not at all , just saying 1m for him is steep and if they keep upping the price how far do we go?
Think we need to look at his age, the league he is playing in and also why there aren't a host of clubs chasing him.
650k max for me or walk.
Mon Jan 30, 2017 3:40 pm
What I have seen he is no better than Noone I hope i am wrong as I have total faith in Warnock, Noone on his day is a great player has pace skill and can finish what has happened to him I do not know. Kennedy is young could come good.
If we were signing a 30 year old from scotland on a free why not but 1 million to me it is clear they want to keep him so let them and look elsewhere
Mon Jan 30, 2017 4:03 pm
The guy is approaching the final years of his career and has a chance to earn 3 times what he is going to earn at Aberdeen over the next 3 years. If he wants to come, you can bet that he (or his agent) will be telling Aberdeen to sort it out, because if he gets stuck at Aberdeen on £3grand a week when he could have had more with us he isn't going to be a happy boy.

1 million? I would test Leicesters resolve with a cheeky bid for Tom Lawrence, forget Hayes.

Tom Lawrence will cost a hell of a lot more than Hayes, it'll be closer to 3m the way he's playing at the moment and his age. Way out of our price range in this window.
In the summer, maybe.
