This Kodi thing

Sun Jan 29, 2017 6:17 pm

After reading we were steamed yesterday, i thought i should get into the modern era so i managed to get Kodi on my amazon fire stick.....

I just added on "sportsdevil" but what should i download. I only want sport i can't get on Sky or BT. Any suggestions ?

Re: This Kodi thing

It's very much trial and error on the day mate. Within Sports Devil you will see several different links (firstrowsports, crictv, etc) when a game is on there will be several links to that game and you just got to keep trying until you get one.

Yesterday I was watching one link and it went off just before half time so had to find another 2nd half.

Picture wasn't brilliant but watchable.

You can also put mobdro on your stick better quality streams than the ones on kodi, plus all sky entertainment channels, on kodi I also have ukturks downloaded as a standby incase sports devil is down.

Same happened to me.I'm thinking of signing up to superfast broardband-do you think that'll make a difference to picture quality.

No difference to picture, you need to sign up to one od the paid for subscription channels, £50.00 per year, less than a £1 week, all the sport you need and 99% of it in HD brilliant picure

Thanks for that.Which channel would you say?

Re: This Kodi thing

The channel would have been sportsmania, but they are not taking any new members, the one to have is right next to that one which is nationhd which is their sister channel

Sportsmania on android box is well worth it for a pound a week.

Sorry just trying to get my head around this. Is NationHD an app on Kodi? or an app seperate to kodi?

Ive got Kodi running on a stick in the bedroom and through the android tv downstairs.

I've just downloaded sport nation HD, after reading about it on here . very good quality, only done it for 3 months on trial. Then I'll do it for the year if its any good .
But seems to be OK .

The wookie build is pretty decent for kodi. It's what use, it downloads the channels for you sports, movies and tv shows etc.

It overloads the firestick though, better to make your own, and just put on it what you use, not all the other junk, that is put on by those selling fully installed boxes

Not liking Kodi 17.0 build at all. Not very user friendly.

Probably is better to install your own but I've never had a problem with wookie on the fire stick I just installed the lite version and it works great. Plus I'm a bit lazy so it's handy to get everything installed in one download.

You can change the skin to go back to what you are used too.
Interface settings, skin,
click skin/ estuary in right hand panel
If confluence is not shown click Get More
Scroll down to Confluence click. then click yes to keep
and then you are back to the skin you were used too.

If at any time you want to change back to Estuary, click system, settings, interface, skin Confluence, scroll down to click Estuary,
then click yes to keep and you are back to the default skin.

If you are brave enough, you could use the above, to look at the other skins that are available, to see if you prefer them

It will not effect any addons that you have on kodi, you keep the lot

I've installed three or four of Wookiee (new build, retro, mini bullie) builds and they are not saving they are just going back to Estuary. Any ideas?

I will try to install wookie and let you know what happens, but I do believe that there is too much junk on wookie for the firestick

I've got an android tv (Sony Bravia 4K) and it's installed on there.

I gave my firestick to my daughter for her Tv upstairs and that's not upgraded to krypton yet. She only uses Kodi anyway.

Just tried it on my mac and as you state it goes on mine to no skin, I still use jarvis 16 on mine but when I read your post thought I would try to see what is the problem, I just downloaded krypton 17 and changed the skins with hindsight should have tried to download something, I will try and see if I can find something and will come back to you

Been on the kodi forum, there are quite a few people on there who have the same problem as you with their Sony android TV being automatically updated by Sony, seem the only thing that has been suggested is for you to change back to Jarvis 16 via the play store, not sure how it works with your TV and not much advice from Kodi people either.

It could be that through your system you go to the google play store add kodi jarvis16 instead of krypton 17v and if successful it might be better if you can cancel the auto update for kodi on your tv.

Sorry not to be of any help to you on this occasion but if I do hear of a remedy I will post it on the forum
