They won't work with a Sky Q lnb although you can fit a hybrid lnb. And is HD quality.
In my eyes these are better than android with kodi as this uses satelitte signal so its not streaming. Kodi is good for films and TV series as you've said but a zGemma is the perfect replacement for someone who is sick of paying obscene amount for Sky/Virgin/BT especially Sports + Movies. The gift will need to be renewed every year as it does expire which is £25 per year.

I think you will find they are not HD but SD as sky a long time ago have really encrypted the HD signal, and these boxes cannot unscramble the hd broadcast![]()

Pause and record works once a hard drive is installed, just use the remote as you would with sky.
Magic eye doesn't work as far as I know you have to set it up through an RF modulator, which gets confusing. You can do it through an android box though

£120 all set up. All that's needed is a satellite feed and a internet connection into it. As they work of the satellite cables there is no lag or buffering, the internet connection is just for the encryption.

It's only premium sky channels that you don't get HD quality on. But they are HD quality.
