' BREAKING NEW ' " NEIL WARNOCK TODAY "
Friday 27th January 2017
Neil Warnock could potentially add ‘one or two’ players to his squad this month.
Anthony Pilkington is unlikely to feature against Reading.
Warnock reveals players could still leave the club before transfer deadline day.
Neil Warnock on deadline day:
"I don’t envisage running up the touchline to the fax machine during the game (against Preston)."
“We’re not looking for major signings, we’re looking to improve the squad until the summer rather than a big signing and waiting for medicals and things like that.”
Bruno Manga could miss the rest of the season after suffering an injury while playing for Gabon in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Saadi recall?
Neil Warnock:
"I don’t think so. We’ve talked about it, there are offers for him so we have to consider things.”

On Reading manager Jaap Stam
Neil Warnock:
"Impressive job, look at the results. He has a style and they’ve been entertaining home and away."
"It’s a good atmosphere there, we’ve had good battles there, some humdingers."
I’ve had some good results there. I like John Madejski, he’s like me as a manager, seen it all done it all, always wanted the best for your club.
They are where we would love to be next year. I’ve never thought about pressures at the top, you just go for it.”

Neil Warnock:
"We have to keep away from relegation, - we have five tough games and if we lose them we’re right back in it."
“We have to get 17 more points, maybe 15.
“Forget the play-offs, we’re nowhere near them and nowhere near good enough for the play-offs at the moment.”

Warnock on Huws, Amos and O'Keefe:
"The lads who aren’t involved, there’s a number not involved, you’re open to anything if you can get something you want, if you can’t you go with what you’ve got."
“I don’t like deadline day, it should be season to season. And I don’t see the problem with loaning players below the PL< I don’t see what benefits there are, so many players could do with a game.
“Amos can’t go anywhere for example, it shouldn’t be allowed.”

Neil Warnock:
Anthony Pilkington
"I don’t think he’ll play. It’s not a deep one, he did some light running but I don’t think I’ll risk him.”

Transfer hopes
Neil Warnock:
"I’d like to bring one, maybe two. There’s an opportunity for bringing one in to let one go, I’ll have to think about it, a swap deal for someone who is not involved."

Interesting quotes from Warnock, I think Saadi should get a pre season here.. he may be one striker that could be something of a play off push for us as in he could be one of 3 strikers we may need for next season.

Who is the swop??
Either Huws or okeefe imo?

This is honesty in it's truest form, fair play Neil.

id like to see saadi get a chance but i think hes the player thats being mentioned in a swap deal, he reminds me of hemed at brighton so would like to see him given a chance but warnock knows what hes looking for in a striker so just have to trust his judgement,i'd happily let huws go tbh, doesnt seem to have the drive or bottle for a professional player

Old school

A rising majority of Premier League deals in the past five years have been done by an electronic fax – mainly a PDF file attached to an email – while Fifa has brought in the Transfer Matching System (TMS) for international deals.
But many football managers, chairman and agents prefer the old-time, safe simplicity of the churning fax machine, documents slowly splurging out for them to see and touch, rather than virtual messages through emails or texts.
But the key reason is that the legal world still prefers written documents and hand-written signatures to electronic notification.
