NEIL WARNOCK:"HE'S NOT NOT GOING ANYWHERE"

My opinion, Warnock prob could not get rid of Lambert if he wanted to as who would want Lambert on £25,000 a take his contract over?
So its best to try and work with him incase of injuries.
Plus I know Warnock has No money to bring a new striker in.

Reports suggested Warnock would be willing to listen to offers for the 34-year-old, but the Cardiff manager has said he is not interested in letting the striker leave the club

Neil Warnock wants to make at least one more signing this month – but insisted he wants to look after himself first before helping others as he dismissed talk of Rickie Lambert leaving Cardiff City on loan.

The Bluebirds boss is still hopeful of adding to his squad in the final week of the window, but admits he's not going to get the quality striker he wants after watching his side battle but eventually beaten at Brighton without finding a way past the hosts' in-form keeper David Stockdale.

And despite reports linking out-of-favour frontman Lambert with a move to QPR and Wolves, Warnock said he's not going to give his Championship rivals a boost as he bides his time in the market.

The Bluebirds boss, who saw a three-match winning run end at the hands of promotion-chasing Brighton said: “I don't think we'll get a striker if I'm honest. We might be able to bring another one in, but unless something happens at the death the club has got to look more at quality signings this summer than a free transfer here or there.

“I hope we can add – it would be nice to bring one or even two in – but I'm quite happy with what we've got.

“There's been the odd one or two enquiries of my players, but nothing serious and we have to be careful – I'm not going to rush into loaning player if I don't think we've got enough numbers, we have to look after ourselves first.”

Lambert has struggled for game-time under Warnock and his exit could free up space on the wage bill, but Warnock said of the links: “I don't think it's been mentioned, I've not had anybody ask me about him. I think it's just paper talk.”

The veteran manager has previously said he was content that his current crop would be good enough to stave off any relegation fears, though has gone on record to say he wants to see the ambition of the club as he targets promotion next season.

He added: “We've got 20 games to get to that magic 50 points – and the sooner we get there the better. We have some tough games away but I think we can go anywhere and get results.”
