Would you vote to scrap the Welsh Assembly?

Tue Jan 24, 2017 5:48 pm

Sprinkler systems must be installed in every, New Build House. No such rule in England.

All Landlords in Wales to do a course, get a License and register their properties. No such rule in England.

Lowest exam results in the U.K.

Longest waiting lists in the NHS.

In my opinion the Welsh Assembly have not improved anything for the people of Wales and is just a waste of money.

If there was a vote on it, I would vote to scrap it.

Agree Wez, the people of Wales voted 'Brexit' by some margin, yet our politicians continue to play "The people of Wales didn't mean it!" games, as they contrive to tell us what we really wanted from it ;)

You make a very good case to scrap it. Especially with that idiot Carwyn Jones in charge at the moment.

I believe the Welsh public have now had enough of Welsh Labour and will show it in the next set of elections.

Even traditional die hard Labour voters have had enough.

What about free prescriptions, free bus or train passes for the over 60's, public services safer than in England. Would I get rid of the biggest waste of space and money going? Yes I would, where are the ballot forms? They're trying to increase the numbers from 60 to 80 because of the workload, well I've got an idea, don't have so much fu..ing time off.

Re: Would you vote to scrap the Welsh Assembly?

100% vote yes to get rid of it.

I was never for it but the way they have ignored how the Welsh public voted so overwhelming for Brexit has really pushed it for me.

Carwyn is a disgrace do some digging on his performance absolutely shocking.

Scrap it yes.
We pay for their over paid pensions.
They pay hundreds of thousands of pounds a year to translate from English to welsh.
Carwyn jones wasted thousands of pounds to travel to Norway when the welsh govt haven't got a say.
They now want to tax welsh tax payers.
Tossers, lot of them
Lets put my snout in the trough and fcuk tax payers.

This is down to the Labour government at the Assembly not the Assembly itself. If you don't like what the assembly is doing vote to change the government.
Can't think of any other country in the world that would discuss getting rid of their parliament and what little power they have and hand power back to their conquerers!!!

Get your facts right, not really your strongpoint is it! Plaid entered a coalition with Labour on one occasion in 2007, the One Wales Coalition.
You have your opinion on Leanne Wood and I have mine, what I do know is she has the best interests of Wales at heart. Unfortunately, we can't say that about you can we.

You are correct. We should never want to give up on our own Assembly.

However this current Welsh Assembly are doing such a poor job, wasting vast amounts of money and not representing the best interests of the People of Wales that I would vote tomorrow to remove them.

Brexit has also showed the true colours of our current assembly. Well over 60% of the Welsh people voted to leave the EU. Yet our Assembly put the Welsh people's vote to one side to persue their own agenda.

It was 53% for Brexit, that's of those who voted. Of the population 25% couldn't vote, 25% didn't so just over 25% voted for and just under to remain. not really convincing, 1-0 or 5-0 still a win but god help Wales now eh!

all results in bar 1 Carmarthenshire NO had a 16k lead
Ron Davies,Rhodri Morgan and the yes contingent got up and left the hall accepting defeat.
all polls had shown Carmarthenshire was going to be NO,yet the result was 65% YES
it just looked all so wrong.

52.5 % leave and 47.5% remain was the vote in Wales. Not well over 60% as you claim. The Welsh Government has accepted the result. People only have to actually take the trouble to listen to what they say. Carwyn Jones stated this on monday - I heard him say it on the news. The only agenda the Welsh Government has is to try and protect Welsh jobs.
