Neil Warnock held his meeting with Cardiff owner Vincent Tan after the Bristol City win with a couple of players leaving and one arriving prior to victory over Burton on Saturday.
Cardiff brought in a Hull keeper last week but this wasn't - contrary to speculation - former Bluebirds no.1 David Marshall this was his teammate at the KCOM Stadium and internationally with Scotland.
34 year old Allan McGregor has seen himself pushed down to third choice at Hull this season after injury but the experienced former Rangers and Besiktas keeper will be Warnock's first choice at the Cardiff City Stadium until the end of the season.
He made his debut - and kept a cleansheet - in our third successive win against Burton on Saturday. However, Tommy O'Sullivan and Eli Phipps weren't involved - had they not been sold by Cardiff they wouldn't have anyway - and aren't going to feature for the Bluebirds in the future.
Phipps signed a professional deal with Cardiff in 2015 but wasn't able to make a first team appearance with a permanent transfer to Colchester - for an undisclosed amount - confirmed. The 19 year old penned a deal with the U's until the summer of 2018.
Also heading to the Weston Homes Community Stadium on a permanent basis was his Cardiff teammate Tommy O'Sullivan - having spent several spells with Newport last season - as an undisclosed fee also took the midfielder to Colchester.
22 year old O'Sullivan had made three appearances in the Cardiff first team but didn't feature in Warnock's future plans.
We'll find out at the end of the summer exactly what Warnock's own future plans are but the Cardiff boss has suggested he'll not remain into next season unless Tan matches his own ambition.
The veteran could easily call it a day and officially retire - once and for all - from management but if Tan is willing to back him in the summer to give Cardiff a genuine chance of returning to the Premier League he'll happily continue.
It wasn't clear what Tan's intentions are though and how well Warnock's meeting with the owner went but in fairness the boss was since backed with the addition of McGregor.
Warnock also confirmed Ricky Lambert wouldn't be allowed to leave on loan and Rhys Healey - of course the match winner against Burton on Saturday - wouldn't be loaned out again this season having returned from his spell with Newport.
Such a scenario with Healey wouldn't now be possible anyway.
