' Warnock- "The spirit of champions" '

Neil Warnock targets an upset - but says Brighton and Hove Albion have the spirit of champions

Neil Warnock believes Albion are showing the spirit of champions.

He would love to see those same traits from his improving Cardiff City side at the Amex tomorrow.
The Bluebirds travel east for the re-arranged staging of a match postponed on December 30 due to fog.
They ground out a 1-0 win at home to Burton on Saturday thanks to a first senior goal from young striker Rhys Healey.

Warnock, pictured, is ready for a tough trip to Sussex and admires the spirit which has left Albion in a position to regain top spot.

The Cardiff boss said: “I now know why they wanted to play us on Tuesday.“Nobody told me they were playing Friday and we’ve got all that travelling!

“I watched them on Friday night and they shouldn’t have won that game but they are fantastic as a team. They never give in.
“They came out of that and I thought ‘That’s why they are top of the league’.

“To win a game like that when the kid missed a penalty for Sheffield – that’s what the Championship is all about really.
“Scraping a win when you don’t play well and enjoying the moments when you do play well.”

Cardiff have won all three of their league games in 2017, their first such treble since September 2015.
They followed the home win over Aston Villa and 3-2 success at Bristol City by defeating Burton as Scottish international goalkeeper Allan McGregor made his debut.

Cardiff now visit the Seagulls and Reading.

Warnock said: “I don’t worry about your Brightons and your Readings.
“We will give them a good game.
“The pressure is all on those teams.
“On Saturday (against Burton) the pressure was all on us because we had to win the game.
“It will be a great crowd and they will just expect to beat us, as will Reading. I’m usually lucky at Reading!”

Brighton look the best team in the league, not many big name charlies in the team but they play fluid fast paced football.

Massive point if we get one at the Amex.

Knockaert is one of the best midfielders in this league, lets hope we keep him quiet.

Dale Stephens is a loose cannon for Brighton though and for that reason I would put Gunnarsson on him. Hopefully frustrate him and make him do something stupid :ayatollah:
