Brighton’s star striker to miss Bluebirds clash

Brighton & Hove Albion’s talisman Glenn Murray is set to miss Tuesday’s clash with the Bluebirds.

The experienced 33 year-old was sent off for Brighton in Friday’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday but despite the sending off, Brighton still went on to win the game 2-1.

However, there is no doubt what a key player Murray is, and how much of a miss he’ll be when the Bluebirds travel to the AMEX stadium on Tuesday night.

He’s scored 15 goals in 26 Championship league games already this season, and is one of the reasons Brighton have done so well this campaign. The Seagulls are currently placed second in the Championship, but can go above Newcastle with a win over 16th placed Cardiff.

The suspension means Brighton could opt to start Tomer Hemed up front on his own. The striker has four Championship goals to his name in the 20 appearances made so far this season and with Murray out, he has a big pair of shoes to fill.

The loss of Murray may have even change Neil Warnock’s preparation for the game, however it certainly won’t mean they’ll underestimate the high-flying Seagulls.

They have other quality players, one of them being arguably the best player in the Championship in Anthony Knockaert. The former Leicester player has 10 goals in 25 appearances so far this season, and is a threat to any side he comes up against.

Regardless, though, it’s a massive blow for the Seagulls who have relied so heavily on Murray and his goals so far this season, and a huge boost for Cardiff City.
