Ffs this list is disgusting when pensioners are going hungry and record people are using food banks ,wasting g taxpayers money

It's doing the rounds on the Web disgusting if true and I'm 99% it is true I don't understand why we give to some of the countries on this list when we are needing it in this country makes my blood boil

Over the last couple of years I have been approach like many regarding installing solar panels and this week some refrigeration unit that will cut down on my gas bills. Both ideas are to cut down on the carbon foot print.

Why oh why does not the Governments just pay for this. The retail cost would be a fraction of what we give overseas.

I agree. I got no prob giving aid to major natural disasters and helping out, but these figures are ridiculous. And as you say, our elderly are left to rot in this country. We're led to believe if you work hard and pay your taxes you'll be looked after but the truth is if you don't save alot of money or if life deals you a bad hand late on then your fucked.

I'm sure on alot of new builds the government has some kind of scheme with solar panels? I know they did have at some point whether that's still going on, I'm not sure.

Also, we now have enough wind energy in the UK to power 8million homes so I'm not sure where that's going either?

We do have to help developing countries but whether giving them money without scrutiny of what it's spent on is not the right way to do it.

Also the great unreported part of Britain's oversea aid is those from the UK who benefit from us giving away such vast sums. A number of Tory MP's have family, friends or direct contacts with companies who make £millions from this oversea aid either by providing goods or services. It's no wonder they are very keen to keep it

The figures are actually correct a large proportion of the money we gave China went on their space programme.

Yep it's an age of "I want it now" the number of people I know that live a lavish lifestyle all bought on credit is shocking. These people save nothing and think nothing of living this way.

Just because you are poor in old age that doesn't mean you haven't worked The vast majority of those who are now in poverty in old age are retired people which didn't have a generous pension scheme and were on low wages. Those who haven't worked due to illness and disability have generally died because of their conditions and the drunken work shy die of liver problems so the numbers of 'scroungers' to use the descriptive word is very small in number.

This is a nasty little attitude which has sprung up over the past few years thanks to Government encouragement. Why should those in work pay the burden of the old? I'm amazed that it never dawns on those who think this way that why should have those same people have paid taxes for their education when they were at school?

We live in a welfare state and paying in is part of that and you take out when you retire, become ill or unemployed. Contrary to urban myth life on benefits is not some kind of wonderland and if you have a well paid job paying tax then you should be glad you have that opportunity rather than pointing fingers at those who are less fortunate than yourself.

Tony, at the start of my post in capital letters to emphasize I used the word SOME, these are the types of people who will generally complain about immigration and foreign aid whilst wallowing in self pity, I know plenty of people who fit this bill perfectly well, young and old. It wasn't a sweeping generalization and I couldn't have made that more clear to be honest with my constant use of the word 'some', and the word used in capital letters at the start so you are ranting at the wrong person mate.

Apparently taken 3 hours before by cnn so fake news but the figures do add up in the next few years the aid budget will rise to 16 billion which is ridiculous when we are in such a mess
