Why do people leave early?

Sat Jan 21, 2017 4:55 pm

I couldn't make today but on the radio they commented that people were leaving with 5 minutes to go with city on the attack, always baffled me. Seen it last week, worzels steaming out the ground with 5 minutes left in a derby with the score 3-2. Never got it never will. :o

I'm one for leaving early unless it's a really exciting game, just show I don't get jammed in Asda car park for hours, if I was on foot not driving I'd stay.

To be honest you shouldn't let it bother you it happens at every ground around the country.

If people want to leave early who are we to judge them they must have there reasons

I've never left early with a game evenly balanced, but I have left a few minutes early when the result is beyond doubt just to try and avoid the traffic build up.

Don't park in ASDA and you don't have to leave early and miss late goals. Pay enough for a ticket might awell get your moneys worth!

I never leave early but it is ultimately up to the person at the end of the day, if they want to miss big moments in a game/season then that's up to them.

I never understand it because people wouldn't turn up if they had something planned that day but oh well.

A day at the football costs enough as it is without paying £7 for parking.

Why would anyone pay £7 for parking? There's plenty of parking near to the stadium.

And you're paying all that money for a day at the football and then not watching all of the game?

Each to their own of course but I find it strange that people who make the effort and pay good money to go to the match would prefer to get home early than watch what they've paid for and made an effort to get to a bit earlier in the day.

No big deal just trying to give you some advice. You can park about a 5 min walk on Hadfield Road or round there for free and traffic is ok getting out.

Re: Why do people leave early?

Unless you have to be somewhere else I have never understood why people do this.

It's like going to watch a film and then leaving before the end

I park on Hadfield Road and am normally back home within 20 mins of the final whistle.

Especially with City you should never leave early :D

Re: Why do people leave early?

My OP wasn't to be critical to those who leave early or to tell them they shouldn't, up to them and couldn't care what they do. Just find it totally bizarre, granted some got to shoot but personally never get it when a game is hanging in the balance. Bristol city last week 3-2 in a derby 5 minutes left and they were pouring out.

I don't get why people leave early to beat the traffic.. You've committed your Saturday to watch the football, so just stay till the end and brave getting home 20 minutes later

It's ridiculous.
