He was a bit cagey then...did he just hint that he was hoping to get Marshall in on loan??

Damn! Read this too late but the bits I heard sounded very interesting. Neil Warnock is a real "old fashioned" football man and we should appreciate him on and off the field whilst we can

He was just asked about Mrs Marshall's comments and praised both Marshall and Simon Moore (both of whom he would have liked to have kept) stating "Never say never" on any possibility of a Marshall return. However, he then stated that he was "very close" to securing a Premier League keeper on loan and we would be surprised who that was! ;)

Interesting times ahead right up to the very end of this transfer window, methinks!

Anyone able to report on the content of the whole interview? :ayatollah:

Meeting went well with Tan, told him what he thought of the club, said it wouldn't cost a fortune to make a good challenge next season, felt more open next season with the teams coming down, didn't expect any of the clubs coming down to be as strong as Newcastle

Thanks, Mark. I wish I'd heard the whole interview and will try to see if it is Podcast later :ayatollah:

If Neil gets reasonable results between now and April the ball will be firmly in Tan's court.
Last year of parachute payments, most of Ole's overpaid rubbish off the books.

It would surely be the time to back a guy like Warnock, needn't be crazy money, just a few key players to supplement what we've got.

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock says the club may make another offer for Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes.

The Dons turned down an undisclosed bid for the 29-year-old, who has made 22 appearances this season, on Friday.

"It's one of those things. You put a value on a player and that's what happens," Warnock told BBC Radio Wales Sport.

"We are just weighing up two or three other players at the moment to see what we're going to do."

He continued: "We try to keep away from the last-minute deadline but I'm afraid it's always there. There's a possibility that we might make another offer."

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes says he has told Cardiff to "be serious" with regard to the fee if they wish to pursue their interest in Hayes.

Meanwhile, Warnock revealed he was in talks to bring a Premier League goalkeeper to the Cardiff City Stadium, and said he would not have sanctioned former keeper David Marshall's move to Hull City last summer.

"If I had been here all season I would have desperately gone out of my way to make sure he didn't leave," he added.

"We lost two goalkeepers on the last day [of the transfer window] and didn't recruit anybody, which has really snookered me really.

"I've been looking to get a permanent goalkeeper in now, I've made two offers for players which have both been turned town and now I'm trying to get somebody on loan from the Premier League."

Just listened to it. Thought it was a good interview.

What I like is he had plenty of time for the questions. A lot of the time, you hear managers who can't wait to get off the phone or off the TV screen. It's only a small thing, but good to have a manager who has a lot of time for the media and fans.
