Why spend money on a player who's done nothing in the EPL and is 30 at the end of the season.? Do we really think he's any better than Harris or Noone?

Warnock thinks he is, give him a chance.

Had a look again this morning and they seem to be more convinced he's going.Christ they they are a delusional bunch,I mean, why wouldn't a player want to test himself at a superior level for more money. They seem to operate in a real bubble.Someone ought to tell them just how crappy their league really is.

Its always amazed me how some Championship clubs slate the Scottish top flight, and its not as bad as you think it is. We have no debt, consistently in Europe and should finish second this season. When was the last time your club entered a European completion? #JustSaying :laughing5:

Seriously though, he is the link to us finishing second and potentially winning the Scottish cup. The prize money alone is more than the 500k offered so why would we accept that? He probably will leave, but it will be a 7 figure sum, and even at that you are getting a good deal :)

Interesting to hear from an actual Aberdeen fan. A few uneducated criticisms of this transfer. He's done the business in the SPL. Our signings from Scotland have generally been good moves for us so I don't understand the negativity. I doubt we will sign him for a seven figure fee though. Tan's arse is tighter than ever before now. I can see a bid of about £750k - £800k being agreed though. His age and desire to leave could impact on that fee. To answer an earlier question, I do actually think he's better than Noone and Harris. Noone has not been the same since his injury a couple of seasons back. Harris has his moments but we need far more consistency if we want to challenge for the play-offs.

Actually I think you are right the SPL is underrated. Celtic made the Champions League group stage this season and it would be hard to see a Championship side doing that.

Whilst I understand your reasoning you will only receive a seven figure amount for the player if all the add-on clause which might attach to the transfer are met. In the first instance I think at most you will get £700k for a 30 year old winger who wants to leave.

Sad for you but that is the reality of the modern day game and we have lost players in similar circumstances before now.

Your league is a back door into Europe just like the welsh league.Theres 2 teams that could cut it in the championship(probably)and yours ain't one of them.Face it,some of the teams in the scottish prem would struggle in league 1 never mind the English Premier league.

I honestly believe that if the club accept less than a 7 figure sum, the fans will go mental. with everything that's going on with the club at the moment (new stadium and training facilities) it will be a backlash they could do without. Granted his age is probably an issue as its his last chance to get a real 'Pay day' but I have no idea what your clubs average wage is? Anyone enlighten me?

We have as strict structure which is no-where near what you can offer, so its not surprise that his head could be turned. Lets be fair, any of us would leave our current employer if someone offered to quadruple your wages lol

If he does leave in the window, I really hope its well in advance, as sourcing a replacement is going to be nearly impossible :| Only saving grace is that his best mate plays for us and signed an extension until 2020, so there is always hope :)

I think you underestimate the quality of our squad. I honestly believe that we would survive in the Championship, along with Hearts and Celtic obviously, but anyone else (and I include 'The Rangers' in the rest) are probably league 1 standard. I totally agree with your point about the Premier league, no where near that standard and I think Celtic would struggle at the level, but we are where we are.

Like I said earlier, we have no debt, don't need to sell and I don't believe we will unless the price is right. Johnny will always give 100% whether he wants to go or not, so his attitude will never be brought into question. If not now then probably in the summer.

Latest offering taken from their board

"Sources in Wales claimed Warnock could even make a player plus cash offer in an effort to win the battle for the signature of the fans’ favourite.
Scotland Under-21 international winger Matthew Kennedy is among those who could be offered to McInnes in an effort to persuade him to part with Hayes.
Former Kilmarnock player Kennedy has struggled to get himself established since moving south of the border in 2012, when he joined Everton in a £250,000 deal."
