Just come back from watching Lincoln Red Imps V Europa FC with Lincoln Red Imps going for the fifteenth straight title against Europa who were top of the league as they entered the second round of three.
With Lincoln's playmaker leaving the club at the end of last season and joining their fiercest rivals Europa it added extra spice to the fixture. Europa won the equivilant of the community shield and also won the first round fixture with a one nil win with a goal scored by who else but the playmaker who left Lincoln.
Great match with Lincoln the far superior side winning the game three one. Should have been more !!
Great win for the bluebirds and look forward to my next match when I home next

Isn't every game in the Gibraltar Premier League a local derby?

Technically yes as all games are played at the same stadium - the Victoria Stadium.
This game has added spice as over the last couple of years Europa have invested in large contingent of non gibratarians although this season the GFA have introduced a home grown player rule and a few sides have not met the requirements for certain games. Whilst Lincoln have a lot of players that play for Gibraltar.
Since the acceptance into FIFA and UEFA with champions league and Europa league places at place it has made it a more important match.
