Zohore today

Sat Jan 14, 2017 6:13 pm

Far from a natural footballer, still needs to work out how to head a ball but had a thankless task and stuck to it. Awkward big and strong and didn't give up. Think he's a player who will benefit from playing week in week out as such a lump. Desperately needs help but credit due to the lad who I had down as non league at best.

I agree.

Still very raw and has a lot to learn. Needs to get his head up and be more aware of players around him.

But he's becoming a real handful for defenders and is getting much better with his hold up play. As you say, for a tall lad his heading is poor and he's no real threat from set pieces but he's working hard to improve and when you consider where he was when Warnock arrived he deserves plenty of credit for the way he's made himself our main striker.

Imagine he could head the ball!! What I like is he looks like he's lost control then somehow sticks his arse in and elbow then he's got it again. A bonus player, like a new player but needs help. I like the lad who went to shef weds from Barnsley scored two against us.

Could he be another Gestede?

Needs to add a real goal threat to his game first I think.

Rudy scored a few important goals for us and hopefully Ken can add that to his game quickly.

 yeah was saying that to my lad yesterday he's so awkward and strong that when he loses control he just sticks a tree trunk out and wins it back again  . Tbf tho he has come a long way from the start of the season I had also wrote him off and couldn't understand how he was a pro. But now his work rate and attitude is superb as stated bit more work on technical ability and finishing and who knows.

I stand by this, Kenneth Zohore is a work horse, but def not the answer to our striker problem.

Yes agree but a better option than we did have, will only improve.

Zohore has in my opinion been showing a fantastic work rate and moments of quality mixed with a few more moments inexperience but, experience comes with playing and in one of his better moments he did score a really good goal at Brentford.

We should remember he is still only 22 and, like Rudy Gestede, he will get better with more experience. For me at 22 years of age he is a better player than Rudy and we should remember Gestede was 25 when he had the 20 goal season with Blackburn.

Is Zohore the answer to our striker problems at the moment, NO, but for me he is the best CF we have at the club at this moment in time. Certainly he is better than Lambert who has gone well past his sell by date. I hope NW gets the opportunity to sign the forward we desperately need, even if it's a loan, but not to replace Zohore but play alongside him.

Going back to Rudy he set an all time Premier League record yesterday when he had played for Middlesbrough at Watford. 31 games without being on the winning side. Ouch.

Agree with this, I think he'll come on alot next year from this season under Warnock. I think even having another attacking winger like hoilet that could offer more pace and support could help him. or a natural no.10.

Re: Zohore today

Sun Jan 15, 2017 10:27 am

I can see similarities with Rudy in terms of his awkwardness to play against. He's a nightmare to get the ball off and even when he does lose it he somehow gets his body into a position to get it back which is a great attribute but he lacks massively in the air compared to Rudy, Rudy has basically made a living in football because of his aerial ability and I think Zahore really needs to work on this part of his game especially for a man of his size. I think technically hes already better than Rudy though.

Re: Zohore today

Agree with this but I think KZ has 2 things Rudy didn't have and that's pace and strength to shrug off defenders who are around him.
All he needs is a few goals and this can be difficult laying the lone striker role (did he look more of a threat when Kadeem and Hoilett came on?).

On a lighter note the boys on the bus were saying it's funny that he gave his shirt to a lad at the end of the game yesterday. He tried to do the same at Burton but nobody wanted it!

Annis I agree with you and I also believe Warnock will sign another striker this window Warnock is using good management with him, I think Warnock hinted something the other week when he stated wrapping Ken up in cotton wool because if he gets injured we will be in trouble

Zahore never looks like scoring.

I would like to see Healy have a game. Scored 7 at Newport who are bottom of their league.

Healy will not cut it in the championship imo and Zahore is not good enough either.

Re: Zohore today

He may well not be good enough as a long term answer but he's doing a good job at leading the line at the moment.
By no means the finished article but he'll do for now.

agree. the boy has much more quality than most are giving him credit for. wont win as many headers as gestede mind. but was everyone guessing which direction the ball was going to come off toblerone really WINNING the header
